    Patriot netters slam way to Wayne Memorial Invite title Livonia Franklin boys tennis team dominates Wayne Memorial Invitational Check out this story on The Livonia Franklin tennis team poses with its first-place plaque after winning the Wayne Memorial Invitational earlier this month. The Patriots placed first in seven of the eight flights to rack up 22 points and out-distance runners-up Dearborn Fordson and Plymouth Christian, both of whom finished with 12. Dearborn Heights Crestwood was fourth with seven points, followed by Detroit Cass Tech and the host Zebras, who tied with six points each.

    After having its first two meets canceled due to the severe storms that have rolled through the Downriver area recently, the Grosse Ile girls' swim team finally got the season started Tuesday evening at Edsel Ford and the Devils came away with a 56-52 win. Grosse Ile used strong performances in the 200 yard medley relay and the 50 yard freestyle to open up a 10 point lead halfway through the meet 27-17 much to the chagrin of Thunderbirds Coach Bill Parker.
