Junior running back Beau Swales enjoyed his first 100-yard rushing performance as Lock Haven racked up a season-high 173 yards on the ground while snapping a nine-game losing streak with a 28-0 victory over Cheyney in front of 3,281 fans at O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium Saturday. Swales, whose previous high was 78 yards at West Virginia State in the season opener, set career records with 24 carries for 116 yards and added nine yards on two pass receptions. Comment?

After four straight home games the Curwensville Area High School football squad hit the road on Friday night and traveled to Brockway to play the Rovers in another crucial Allegheny Mountain League South Division contest. Junior running back Beau Swales scored his first rushing touchdown of the season for Lock Haven Saturday, but Shippensburg kept the Bald Eagles out of the win column with a 42-24 victory with 1,150 fans on hand in Hubert Jack Stadium. His two-yard plunge late in the first half capped an 18-play, 76-yard drive which Swales kept alive with a 10-yard pass reception on third-and-nine at Ship's 47. He was held to 24 yards for 13 carries while adding 23 yards on four receptions as the Bald Eagles tumbled to 0-6, with five of the losses counting in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division.
