    Wednesday night's Division 3 boys' basketball playoff game between Clinton High and Leicester High followed a pattern - the fourth-seeded Gaels would make a run, then the Wolverines would storm back into the game. Thirteenth-seeded Leicester twice came back from a double-digit deficit, but Clinton outscored the Wolverines, 20-9, in the final five minutes to secure a 65-53 first-round win at a packed gym at Clinton High.

    Gaels lose a heartbreaker in Clark tournament

    The Clinton High School boys basketball team was upset, 66-64, by Quabbin in the Clark tournament larger schools quarterfinals on Monday, in what can only be described as a heartbreaker. Clinton trailed 56-40 with less than a minute to go in the third, but senior captain and Clinton's all-time leading boys' scorer, Brendan Kittredge, went on a personal 6-0 run to start the final quarter, getting the Gaels to within seven points at 56-49.

    Chieftains advance in Clark tournament, Gaels bow out

    The Nashoba Regional High School boys basketball team ran the Bartlett High School squad out of the gym on Monday night, with an 88-50 romp in the quarterfinals of the annual Clark Tournament. Senior center Travis Macko dominated down low, finishing with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
