    Shen's Anderson heats up on a cold day

    By Jim Schiltz Gazette Reporter The game went Shenendehowa's way, and so did the game within the game, a three at-bat confrontation between ace Plainsmen pitcher Ian Anderson and Niskayuna slugger Garrett Whitley on a chilly Friday afternoon.

    DeChiaro perfect for Cohoes in 19-0 victory

    Isabelle DeChiaro tossed a perfect game and the Cohoes offense took care of the rest as the Tigers blasted Watervliet, 19-0, in a windswept Colonial Council softball encounter in Cohoes. Brianna Bowen had three hits and three RBIs and Danielle McOmber added four hits and three RBIs for Cohoes , which plated seven runs in the first inning and six in the second.

    Lacrosse: Nisky girls take over North Division lead

    Alissa Franze equaled Shenendehowa's output with a career-high seven goals, and the Niskayuna girls' lacrosse team took over sole possession of first place in the Suburban Council North Division with a 13-7 win over the Lady Plainsmen Thursday.

    CLASS AA Highlights Player of the Week Kyle Ruth, Colonie: The senior shortstop , a four-year varsity starter, went 8-for-15 with six RBIs to help the Garnet Raiders win three of four contests in Suburban Council play. Team of the Week Saratoga: The Blue Streak bounced back smartly from a 3-0 loss at Shenendehowa April 9 by producing Suburban Council wins against Niskayuna , Averill Park , Columbia and Shaker .
