    High school highlights: Ballston Spa swim team rallies

    Clayton Bennice , Jesse Haraden, George Stack and Tanner Damico rallied Ballston Spa to a 99-87 win over Bethlehem in a boys' swimming and diving meet at Bethlehem. Bennice won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle to keep the Scotties close early on.

    HS highlights: Shaker wins to end Shen's streak

    Shaker's Will Matz finshes first in the 200 individual medly during their boy's high school swim meet against Shenendehowa on Tuesday Jan. 13, 2015 in Clifton Park, N.Y. The Shaker boys' swimming & diving team beat Shenendehowa 94-92 Tuesday to end the Plainsmen's 93-meet winning streak in Section II dual meets before a packed crowd in Clifton Park. The Blue Bison led from start to finish after going 1-2 in the 200-yard medley relay.

    Rossier gives Shaker lift

    On an evening when two of the state's premier Class AA girls' basketball teams struggled on offense, Rossier flourished amidst the chaos. A 6-foot-1 senior center, Rossier punished Shenendehowa in the paint to record a season-high 23 points and 17 rebounds as Shaker posted a 52-44 Suburban Council North Division road victory in overtime.

    Plainsmen dominate in blowout over Blue Bison

    Shenendehowa senior Brandon Fischer said he expected Shaker to come out firing in front of a Blue Bison home crowd in Tuesday's showdown between the pair of Suburban Council foes. "They've come out with a lot of energy and enthusiasm," Shenendehowa coach Tony Dzikas said.

    CLASS AA Highlights Player of the Week Anthony Mack, CCHS: The 6-foot-4 junior scored a season-high 43 points Tuesday in the Crusaders' 86-82 loss to Christian Brothers Academy in overtime. Mack, who is averaging 25.5 points per game, drained six 3-pointers to lift his season to 30 treys.
