    While there are two weeks left in regular season play, it appears that a championship game has already been set up in the Metro-Mesa League next Friday, Oct. 31. On Halloween, the Olympian Eagles are slated to host the Eastlake Titans. Both teams are 2-0 in Metro-Mesa League play following key victories on Friday, Oct. 24. "This is the game for the season, it's the league title right now, though obviously, we have another game after that," Olympian head coach Paul Van Nostrand said.

McAleenan posted a team-high 11 tackles, as the linebacker continued his impressive debut season at UNLV after transferring from College of the Canyons.

    Thanks to four touchdowns by C.C. Portillo, the Sweetwater Red Devils remained undefeated on the season by defeating the visiting Castle Park Trojans, 49-21, in Friday's homecoming game. The Devils improved to 7-0 on the season; they also remained undefeated on their home field since the new turf field was installed last year.

    It's the midpoint of the high school football season and the Eastlake Titans, owners of a 3-3 overall mark, sit pretty in the grand scheme of things. The Titans have proven to be a solid top 10 team within the boundaries of the San Diego Section, and would qualify for this year's Elite Eight Open Division playoffs if the season ended now.
