    Pioneers Win Soccer District Crown

    For the first time since 2006, the Zane Trace boys soccer team has won a district title. The Pioneers, training 1-0 at half, when they found the back of the net twice in the second half for a 2-1 win over South Webster.

    Warren vs. Unioto Saturday

    Warren has some familiarity with Chillicothe Unioto, its D2 district final opponent at Logan High at 4 p.m. this Saturday. Last year, the Andrew Johnson-coached Warriors played the Tyler Bryant-led Shermans in a district semi at Lucasville Valley High, and won 1-0 on Aaron Mazurkiewicz's last second goal.

    Burg Edges Huntsmen in 5 Set Thriller

    The Huntington Huntsmen just missed becoming the fifth SVC volleyball team to advance to the district final, falling in five sets to Wheelersburg Thursday in the Division 3 District Semis at Waverly High School. The Pirates claimed the first set 25-20, but the Huntsmen battled back to take Set #2, rallying from a 19-13 deficit to win 26-24.

    All District Volleyball Team Named

    The District 14 High School Volleyball Coaches Association have selected their All District teams for 2014. The Division 2 list was led by Unioto's Alexis Overly as Player of the Year, with Aaron Ridenour of the Shermans being named Coach of the Year.

    "Tonight was all about our seniors" said Chillicothe Coach Ron Hinton after his Cavaliers defeated Washington 56-0. It was the Cavs' last home game of the season, and a final time for the Class of 2015 to be under the Friday Night lights at Herrnstein Field.

    Pioneers Run Over Huntsmen

    The Zane Trace offensive line was key in the Pioneers 54-8 win over Huntington . The Pioneers' Trey Rittenhouse took the opening kick-off 83 yards for the score, giving the Pioneers an early 7-0 lead.
