    Wapak explodes past Celina

    The Wapakoneta Redskins rallied twice against the Celina Bulldogs in a back-and-forth contest early, breaking through by scoring seven runs with two outs in the fifth inning, adding five more in the sixth to help compete the win by run-rule Thursday in a high school baseball Division II district semifinal at Bluffton University. Wapakoneta will face Bath, which upset St. Marys in the other semifinal, at 3 p.m. Saturday in the district final at Bluffton University.

    O-G girls third, boys fourth at WBL meet

    Ottawa-Glandorf's track teams both finished in the half of their respective standings at the Western Buckeye League track and field meet Friday night at Defiance High School. The Lady Titans finished third with 88 points as Celina repeated as league champions with 118 points.

    Amstutz qualifies for tennis districts

    The hard-hitting junior lefty overcame three opponents in Thursday's UNOH Division II sectional tournament to advance to Saturday's semifinal and earn an automatic berth in next Wednesday's Bowling Green district tournament. Amstutz, seeded third Thursday, was the only Cougar to make it through.

    Cougars capture WBL tennis titles at third singles, ...

    Although the Western Buckeye League tennis championship once again went to Shawnee, Saturday was a good day for Van Wert at the UNOH courts. Senior Eric Yeung took home the third singles championship, and the pairing of junior Davis Munroe and freshman Michael Etter did likewise at second doubles.
