    Former Tigers coach Johnson to receive Martel Award

    Mark Johnson, who led the Smith-Cotton Tigers football program for 15 years, will be honored Dec. 5 with the Phil Martel Award by the Missouri Football Coaches Association. According to the MFCA, Martel award nominees, who can be current or retired Missouri high school football coaches, "must have demonstrated a level of commitment to the MFCA beyond expectations.
