    Familiar foe awaits Brush in State

A tough loss to Sterling on Thursday night placed the Brush Beetdiggers boys basketball team in the third place game of the Patriot League Tournament Friday at Bank of Colorado Arena on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado, and a chance to get their first win against Frontier Academy this season.

For the Beetdiggers, they are one step away from securing their bid to the State tournament, which begins next week.

    Conrad Cole grabs the title

    Conrad Cole was the frontrunner for the 126 pound title in class 3A at the 2015 State Wrestling Championships, but a deep field proved it would not be an easy road to get to the top there. That was evident in Cole's first match, one where he trailed 1-0 before scoring three points in the final period to move on.

    Oblander, Brown named Student Athletes of the Week

    For the final Student Athlete of the Week award for the 2014-15 winter season, the Fort Morgan Times has named Weldon Valley senior Wyatt Oblander and Brush senior Mariah Brown the recipients of the awards for their play in their final regular season games of their careers last week. Oblander, a senior on the Warriors basketball team, was honored before his final regular season game Friday against Pawnee by the Weldon Valley faithful.
