Just like the weather, the bats for both Sterling and Brush started off cold, as pitching and defense carried a shutout through the first three innings of play.

    Brush track building up towards success

    With the final month of the season here, the team looked to make a name at Nottingham Field on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado in the Platte Valley Bronco Invite on Saturday, facing off against many other schools they have already had a chance to go up against this season. With the boys track and field team, they have begun competing in a handful of events at every meet, and Saturday was no exception.

    With plenty of games in the Patriot League under their belt, the Brush Beetdiggers baseball team stepped back into non-conference play on Monday with an intriguing game against the Resurrection Christian Eagles, a team ranked number one in class 2A entering the week by CHSAA. With a top team in the state coming to town, Brush looked to ride the momentum from their two wins against Sterling and Strasburg to end last week and get another solid win to add to their resume.

    It was a tough meet on April 4 in Westminster for the Brush Beetdiggers track and field team, as only three boys scored in the meet. Looking to bounce back as a team, the Beetdiggers hit the road on Friday to compete in the seventh annual Weld Central Rebel Round-up at Weld Central High School, and the Brush team was on a mission to deliver a strong team performance on the day.

    The Brush Beetdiggers may have been defeated the first time they took on the Sterling Tigers, but they are back on a winning streak after defeating the Tigers in a second match-up, as well as the Strasburg Indians last week. Beetdigger baseball came out on top with a winning 2-1 record last week, sparked as they took on a duo of games against Patriot rivals the Sterling Tigers to go 1-1.
