    An onslaught of runs were scored on Thursday at Valley High School by the Brush baseball team, and they were looking for more of the same on Saturday, when the team travelled to Estes Park for a second meeting with the Bobcats this season.     Baca and Carwin, Pfau named Student Athletes of the ...

    For the week of March 9 through March 15, the Fort Morgan Times has named Fort Morgan senior Aurora Baca and junior Rachel Carwin for the female Student Athlete of the Week award, and Brush senior Zane Pfau for the male Student Athlete of the Week award for their performances on the tennis court and diamond. Baca and Carwin, two members of the Fort Morgan girls tennis team, were named the co-recipients of the award after the doubles pair went on to go 3-0 last week, winning all their matches against Peak to Peak, Fort Lupton and Montbello.

    Redemption in Valley

    It's safe to say that if you are a fan of offense in baseball, the Brush Beetdiggers and Valley Vikings will put on a show when the two schools face off against each other. Last Tuesday, the schools combined for 31 runs, including a 12 run top seventh inning by Valley to avoid the loss and get a comfortable win in Brush.

    Brush baseball have sights set on May

    Some expectations were highly placed on the Brush Beetdiggers baseball team before the season began, but the team has blocked the outside noise and the players have put their hats and gloves on ready to work in the preseason. Coming in as a top-10 team in the preseason, Brush athletics have been no strangers to high goals put on them.

    Three wrestlers named All-State

    Brush senior Conrad Cole was named to the CHSAA 3A All-State wrestling team after winning the State title at 126 pounds in February. It was a successful wrestling season for the Brush Beetdiggers and the Fort Morgan Mustangs, as both schools saw some of their own crowned State champions at the 2015 CHSAA State Wrestling Tournament at the Pepsi Center back in February.

    Bobcat baseball under new management

    The Estes Park High School Bobcats hosted Highland Saturday in baseball action. The Huskies topped the Cats 15-3 in six innings, dropping the Bobcat record to 1-2 for the season.

    A late change in their schedule saw the Fort Morgan Mustangs track team take a step up in competition on Saturday. After having their originally scheduled track meet at Brush cancelled, the team adjusted on the fly and was invited to the Windsor Invitational at the last minute.
