Madison Central coach Bobby Hall confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that he will retire at the end of the Jaguars 2014 season. The Clarion-Ledger's Coach of the Year in 1995, Hall's coaching career spans 37 years, with 30 of those spent at the high school level. Comment?

Randal Montgomery's message has remained positive throughout the ups and downs of his first season as football coach at Columbus High School. Montgomery has had to work to change the mind-set of a program that never has had consistent success amidst the expectations that his success at Class 3A Hazlehurst High -- where he led the program to three consecutive state title games, winning one -- led some to believe he would be able to have similar success immediately at Class 6A Columbus. The Arrows, ranked fifth in The Clarion-Ledger Super 10 poll, have not lost since falling to Brandon on September 5. CHS brings a 6-1 overall record into the game and a 3-0 mark in Region 2-6A. That's the message Columbus coach Randal Montgomery and Heritage Academy coach Barrett Donahoe want their teams to heed at 7 tonight as they prepare to face Greenville and Leake Academy, respectively, in Mississippi High School Activities Association and Mississippi Association of Independent Schools action. For Columbus, tonight's game will have a direct impact on its ability to finish in the top four in the region and earn a playoff spot. Comment?
