    La Salle Prep volleyball: The Falcons lead the Northwest Oregon Conference with an 8-0 record after beating Liberty and Putnam in three-set sweeps last week. La Salle Prep is 10-1 overall, the lone loss coming in a tournament at Bend.

    Summit proved to be as explosive as advertised, but it was Ashland that came away with a flashy nonconference victory Friday. The second-ranked Grizzlies rode a fantastic opening quarter and five turnovers to a 35-14 victory over 10th-ranked Summit in a battle of Class 5A football powers at Summit High School in Bend.

    Hunter McDonald rushed for 131 yards for the Lava Bears to help them to a 49-0 shutout at home against Eagle Point . Six of Bend's seven touchdowns came on the ground with McDonald scoring two and QB Creighton Simmonds adding one.
