    Since taking the job eight months ago, Winder-Barrow football coach Heath Webb has talked often about changing the culture of the program, which has enjoyed only three winning campaigns since 1994 and hasn't reached the postseason in 11 years. Christopher Chiantay "CeCe" Green has been Winder-Barrow's offensive workhorse this fall, rushing for 11 touchdowns and a school-record 1,172 yards in a year that has seen the Bulldoggs already win more games than they have in any season since 2008.

    After a break for quarter exams last week, Athens Christian came out a little flat for its game against George Walton on Friday. The Eagles trailed 7-6 at halftime, but scored 29 unanswered second-half points to clinch a 35-7 win over the Bulldogs .

    The Winder-Barrow High School football team remained in playoff contention with a 37-35 Region 8-AAAAA homecoming victory against Cedar Shoals High School Friday night at W. Clair Harris Stadium. The Bulldoggs will now have a huge game with Clarke Central High School next Friday in Athens.

    Gainesville airs it out to beat Clarke Central, 35-10

    Gainesville senior quarterback Mikey Gonzalez completed 20 passes for 305 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-10 win against Clarke Central on Friday at City Park Stadium. Chris Williamson led all Red Elephants wide receivers with five catches for 155 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
