Several former Austin College alumni and coaches are making headlines this month, with former Kangaroo football, baseball, and golf coach Bob Stitt recently being named the new head coach for the University of Montana while four other former 'Roos will be active on the sidelines at the high school and college levels over the next few weeks. Stitt, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Kangaroos from 1994-1998, head baseball coach in 1995-1996, and head golf coach in 1997, was tabbed as the new head coach of the Grizzlies after having served as the head coach at Colorado School of Mines since 2000. While many Texans are still talking about decisions made by the College Football Playoff committee, a state lawmaker took the first step Thursday toward changing the high school football playoff system. Sen. Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, filed a bill to decrease the number of teams advancing to the playoffs from each University Interscholastic League district from four to two. Comment?
