May 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka this morning staged an extravagant military parade at the Galle Face Green in Colombo to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the monumental victory over the terrorist war waged by the Tamil Tiger rebels for three decades.

Bishop Raymond Wickramasinghe of Galle is seeking the prayers of the faithful worldwide as the nation's Christians and Muslims suffer persecution from Bodu Bala Sana , the "Buddhist Taliban." The Fides news agency reported that Buddhist monks were involved in 50 attacks on Christians in 2012.
