This is exactly why neighborhood watchmen shouldn't be allowed to carry weapons!
The only thing this kid is guilty of is wearing a hoodie and carrying Skittles candy!
Police do need to release more information however we heard the 911 tapes, you can clearly hear the kid screaming for help and all the witnesses seem to be on Trayvon's side.
I love how some of the news reports are posting pictures of Trayvon looking like a gangster (his parents say its a 4 year old picture) and a picture of the shooter looking like John Q Concerned-Citizen. Its just not fair.

Where are you getting your info from. It was Zimmerman who was screaming for help while Trayvon was on top of him pounding his head into the pavement. Then, Trayvon went for the gun, which was why Zimmerman shot him. All eyewitness accounts verify this version of the events.

You're obviously watching FAUX news! In their attempts to avoid multiple lawsuits, they're grasping at straws to try and discredit Trayvon. Its sad. Every single witness to the shooting stated Trayon was screaming for help. And he didn't have a gun, he had SKITTLES! Zimmerman had no right to shoot an unarmed young man walking home from the store. Period. Zimmerman is just lying to try and save his own a**.
Don't let FAUX news screw up reality.

Really? Faux huh? You're a f@#$ing moron. I don't watch Fox. I can't stand Fox. Here's an idea, why don't you wait for the all the facts to come out before you decide to convict and execute this guy?

"Zimmerman's account emerged for the first time Monday in a report by The Orlando Sentinel. Quoting unidentified "law enforcement authorities," the Sentinel reported that Zimmerman told police that Trayvon Martin knocked him down with a single punch and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times before the shooting an account that police said witnesses have corroborated."
And USA Today
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/201...
"Details of the deadly night are trickling out. The Orlando Sentinel, citing unnamed police sources, reported Monday that Zimmerman says Trayvon punched him, climbed on top of him and slammed his head repeatedly into the sidewalk, leaving Zimmerman bloody and battered. A Sanford, Fla., police statement said the newspaper story was "consistent" with evidence turned over to prosecutors"
And Rueters
"Leaks from the police report detail Zimmerman telling police he was heading back to his truck when Martin knocked him down with a punch to his nose, jumped on him, repeatedly banged his head on the ground, then tried to grab Zimmerman's gun. In a struggle for Zimmerman's gun, the watchman shot the teenager, Zimmerman told police. "
Oh yeah, have you also seen that the Martin family is now trademarking Trayvon's name so they can sell T-shirts and various items. Nothing like making a profit off of your son's death, eh?

From Reuters:
"Martin may have cut a more imposing figure than previously known. Recent pictures on the web and social media show him with gold dental grill and making obscene gestures to the camera.

In addition, Martin's Miami school records show that he has been suspended three times.

Family attorney Benjamin Crump confirmed to ABC News that Martin had been slapped with a 10 day school suspension after a bag with suspected marijuana was found in his backpack.

Last year Martin was suspended for spraying graffiti on school grounds. The Miami Herald reported that the school guard who stopped him searched his backpack and found 12 items of women's jewelry and a flathead screw driver that the guard believed to be a "burglary implement." But Martin was never charged or specifically disciplined for the incident. "

Zimmerman was patrolling because there had been numerous burglaries in the neighborhood. Hmm? Makes you wonder doesn't it? And come to think of it, where does a 17-yr old get the money to buy gold grills for his teeth?

Does anyone remember the duke lacrosse rape case. When incidents like this happen the police take several weeks to release the findings of the investigation. The media in that time has a history of twisting facts. What is unique to this case is that the media never say we have a Caucasian African american but the shooter was a Caucasian Hispanic. What about the black on black drive by shootings that take innocent lives.

when this first came out it there was something about zimmermann saying on the 911 call about a coon. now we hear nothing about it. reporting error or what? and since when does a neighborhood watch chase down a suspect? and now they are trying to make it look like it's the kid's fault because of what he was wearing? if that's the case most of the kids in sullivan better watch out because THAT defense give a license to kill to every loon out there! and 'guns don't kill people, skittles do'...right..smells fishy to me!

Have you all stopped to think that maybe what Zimmerman is saying is false, since it has taken ALL this time for him to FINALLY say that Trayvon beat him???? Don't you find it weird that they keep saying he is adding details to his story? I am not saying Trayvon is innocent or that Zimmerman had the right to do what he did... just saying, keep an open mind and don't let the media try this case!

The media will try this case like it always does.
Does anyone remember Tawana Brawley? Al Sharpton was involved in that one too.

If Trayvon was white the media wouldnt even cover it! Trayvon was not a saint, but when the media post a cute picture of a 14 year old kid it makes you already hate Zimmerman. Fact is, he was 17 and not the sweet little innocent kid liberals make him out to be.

Trayvon is just the flavor of the month for the media. As soon as they can't sell his story any more or a new flavor comes along you won't hear the name anymore.
The media is not concerned with justice for Trayvon, if they were they wouldn't be poisoning every possible jury pool. Trayvon is a way to sell ads while we all sit and wait for the next Trayvon update.
So let's all continue to shred each other over Faux News, MSDNC and whatever else we can come up with but make sure and stay tuned during this commercial break.

It has nothing to do with the races involved and everything to do with the fact that police disbatch told Zimmerman not to pursue the kid, did he listen, umm I think not.

So, Trayvon hit the guy, the 200lb+ dude hit the ground and then Trayvon smacked his head against the sidewalk, in which case Trayvon went for the gun, which is where Trayvon was shot by Zimmerman? Did I get that right?

First, I would like to know where this sidewalk is? Was DNA analysis done for the blood that was found at the scene? If so, is there a 99-100% conclusion that it is in fact Zimmermans DNA? From what I've scene on the media, Trayvon was shot and killed behind a house, if that's the case, is there a sidewalk behind that house? If not, why did Zimmerman then go after this kid, if this kid was already kicking his ass? Perhaps, Zimmerman is diabetic and was afraid Trayvon was going to shove a handful of Skittles down his throat?

First off, interesting name considering your post. You made your opinion skewed and invalid with one simple statment "From what I've scene on the media..." What makes you any better tha George Zimmerman? You were not there (I'm assuming), involved in the altercation to know exactly what happened. Yet you are pre-judging George zimmerman by what you have seen on the TV! IF law enforcement find enough factual evidence to charge George Zimmermen, how can the man, an American citizen, recieve a fair trial by a jury that has not been tainted by the media? So now, IF law official has found enough evidence to charge him, are you going to hold the media accountable for taking away HIS Constitutional rights to a fair trial? I am sick of the media and the sheep that they influence. Everybody is claiming that Martin has been wronged and treated unfairly, and that might be true. And everybody is claiming that George Zimmerman had no right to judge Martin, potentially true as well. So now the media has the easily influenced majority go along with their opinions and has gotten ALL of the to pre-judge George Zimmerman. Everyone needs to step away from the TV and take a deep breath and remember that there are TWO sides to everything! Let the elected/hired/trained/professi onal officials do their job and no try to do it for them! Think about that for a minute!!!!! Isn't that what everyone is accusing George Zimmerman of doing?

OK, ran over. critisize away.

Travis,
You said "Everybody is claiming that Martin has been wronged and treated unfairly,..."
Being murdered is a lot more serious than "being treated unfairly".
I do agree though, the media skews reality and we do need to step back and let the professionals get to the bottom of this.
Trouble is, money talks and makes things change. The opinion I formed is from what I heard on the ORIGINAL 911 tapes, before it was altered by the media. And what I heard was a young man's voice screaming for help. Every call to 911 during the incident points to the kid being innocent and to the armed neighborhood watchman disregarding commands to not pursue. Even though the media has cut and pasted the 911 tapes several times, depending which news station is on which side...the original released tapes, and the fact the much smaller kid was carrying only skittles and a can of ice tea, speaks louder to me than what the media has twisted this into.
This is exactly why neighborhood watchmen should never be allowed to be armed. He over reacted and took a life. There has to be consequences for that.

I'm not going to argue opinions or facts on here, that has proven pointless in multiple threads. The problem I am having with all this is the fact that because of the media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Spike Lee, the Black Panthers, etc... have taken things out of context, edited the 911 tapes to bend things to their own point of view, claimed that the video showed no injuries (and then changed their statements) and all the violence and threats and bounties has already started to threaten MY rights! Law makers have already started to push for gun control laws, again. They want neighborhood watches to be registered organizations. What next?
