Good point. Still, there was no need to shoot him. I believe the law was abused in this case. RIP, man Ronnie wrote: ....and the parents of the deceased teenager are considering having the phrase "I am Treyvon" patented??? REALLY?!?!

If the courts actually convicted based on public opinion a heck of a lot of innocent people would be in jail or put to death. But I'm sure you have all the facts as they happened.

But I'm sure you have all the facts as they happened. I find it funny how people jump on the band wagon and still believe every word the Media says. They are herds following the sheep Herder. I also find it funny how the public can actually think that a whole police agency is racist because this guy was not arrested on the spot but then again that's the NAACP for ya. Last week in DeKalb two black security officers for an apartment complex, left their post off property, and walked down the street to a cu-de-sac to confront black females who were there to fight another girl. The two security guys identified themselves as police. While questioning the girls, a black male walks up to confront the two S/G's. One S/G Pulls his weapon shoots the guy killing him. The only thing they were arrested for was impersonating a police officer......So where is Al and the NAACP on this in justice... Racism will always be a part of society as it has been since the beginning of time, but when one group continues to blame and accuse the other group with every chance they get todistributed profit and gainthe media attention, no progress will be ever be made. In my opinion this was an act of stupidity on Zimmerman's part not an act of racism and he should be charged. But I also believe that in the black community there is a status quo to act and be precieved a certain way which is brought in by the bad apples in the community and by the music industry. I think the NAACP needs to be more active in the black community to change the way of thought on the violence, drugs, and education. To me that's what Dr King wanted as much as equal rights. And FYI I believe the KKK and white supremacy groups are just as at fault as the NAACP. We are all humans and all have the same opportunities in this world

What's your point? Are you saying they didn't abuse the law? Ronnie wrote: <quoted text>Bless your heart. If the courts actually convicted based on public opinion a heck of a lot of innocent people would be in jail or put to death. But I'm sure you have all the facts as they happened.

no one can take any media incident seriously is al sharpton is involved. let's not forget that he perpetrated the tawana brawley hoax & tried to get an innocent DA & police officers thrown in jail in order to gain public notoriety. he was sued by the accused & commanded to pay restitution. he never did. he is a charleton & a liar & a bigot & just a slimy person all the way through. Also, when the media attempts manipulation of the event by using a school photo of the deceased when he was 12 years old, you gotta suspect that there is a lot that they dont want to know or want us to know. We should all wait until we actually have the real facts-not just what the anti-American press wants us to see or think

Ava Schock wrote: What's your point? Are you saying they didn't abuse the law? <quoted text> OK...here we are several weeks after the incident happened. What has changed? Where is the abuse?? I'm sorry a young person was killed. Today's news "No Grand Jury for Zimmerman". The Florida DA doesn't see a need in sending this to the Grand Jury. Since Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others couldn't flex their muscle for "change" they will go back and do what it is they do. People, don't convict a man based on a few headlines. Wait for the truth. Don't jump to judgement because he was a young black person and the other was a white male adult. Can't we all just get along?

This entire case has been one sided. The media doesn't care about Zimmerman. A black male was killed by a non black male and its all presented as if he was racially profiling Martin. Zimmerman has already been convicted of murder and hasn't had a trial. The local PD cleared Zimmerman so that should be enough to close the case. Until I see evidence showing Zimmerman committed murder I think he needs to be left alone. Had a black male shot Martin we wouldn't be seeing this garbage on the news everyday. This case has gotten too political and racially motivated and it seems as though no matter what this is a lose - lose situation. I hate it that Martin lost his life especially at a young age. I also hate it that his family will miss seeing him graduate, get married, have kids, etc. But now a innocent / semi innocent man will not get a fair trial anywhere in the southeast and will be treated and sentenced unfairly. That's if someone doesn't assassinate him before trial. Sad and unfortunate for both families.

From what I read, Trayvon attacked Zimmerman and Zimmerman acted in self defense. Zimmerman has the injuries to prove this was the case too.

Yeah.. ok.. wow, although his own lawyer said that he is probably looking at manslaughter.Geez, you're a genius. radagast wrote: no one can take any media incident seriously is al sharpton is involved. let's not forget that he perpetrated the tawana brawley hoax & tried to get an innocent DA & police officers thrown in jail in order to gain public notoriety. he was sued by the accused & commanded to pay restitution. he never did. he is a charleton & a liar & a bigot & just a slimy person all the way through. You STAND YOUR GROUND if you feel threatened. If you're threatened by a pack of Skittles, you have no business owning a gun. Plain and Simple.

It was dark, hard to see, and adrenaline was pumping and a person had their hands either in their pockets or under their shirt. How the heck would anyone know he had a can of tea and skittles??????? Was he supposed to wait and see what he was holding??? Come on!!!

Well, with that logic, I suppose the cops should just go ahead and shoot you when you get pulled over, because they don't know if you have a weapon on you. This is an opinionated question, so relax man. If a police confronts a person in any situation and they can't see hands or if hands are concealed the police will have one hand on their gun ready to fire even if the perp's hands are in their hoodie pocket holding a bag of candy. When the police pull over a car the police walks up behind and stands behind the driver's door until they can clearly see inside the car and determine there is no threat. Otherwise they HAVE to assume there is a threat.

The witness said he saw Trayvon banging Zimmermans head into the concrete, thats what Zimmerman said also. Trayvon, other than the fatal gunshot wound had no injuries and Zimmermens head and nose were injured indicting that Trayvon initiated the assault. Zimmerman stated that he lost Trayvon and then Trayvon appeared and assaulted him.
I think that unless the justice system is skewed by pressure from minority special interest groups and pressure from the Obama justice dept, Zimmerman is a free man, justified by self-defense.

Ava...Zimmerman was following him because he thought Martin look suspicious. Who are you to judge what another person thinks is suspicious. If you LISTEN to actual 911 tape, 911 asked Zimmerman if Martin is white, black, or Hispanic. Zimmerman replied I THINK he's black. The other thing on the 911 tape is that Zimmerman says, I'm going BACK to my truck to WAIT for the police because I lost site. While at his truck Martin suddenly appears and attacked him. So ask yourself, what would you do if you had a gun and someone was on top of you smashing your head into the ground? Now I'm not saying Zimmerman should have no punishment, he should and the loss of Martins life is terrible, but this whole case was blown out of proportion by NAACP and theI media to keep the race issue in this country in turmoil. Also, once Martin realized that he had evaded Zimmerman from following any further, Martin should had just kept walking back to his families house. Both of them made crucial mistakes.. 1 lost his life and the 2nd will as well.
