Please forgive my ignorance, as I'm in my 40's and haven't spent any time 'up home' in decades- since I was a teenager, the last time I've been back up was once in the 1990s for a funeral, so it's not a 'stupid question' lol

With all due respect, I wonder if this person would make this same comment to any Elder in their own family who receives social security payments from the gov't...and I wonder if the person who made this comment expects to receive any social security payments from the gov't one day..

I wonder if that same person has any family members and/or associates who are receiving disability benefits....or unemployment benefits...or social security benefits....subsidies for farmers are probably something to be looked down on too, no? Since it's all welfare from the government....

I guess if that person lost everything and the only way he/she could eat was via food stamps/access cards whatever they're called these days, he/she would choose to starve.....

Just a thought....
