Trayvon Martin Debate - Lewisburg, TN

We are now hearing of a witness that says it was self-defense. More info is needed, which is why we should not be trying this man in the media.

The young man hadn't done anything to give the neighborhood watch nut a reason to suspect he had done anything wrong . Thus he had no reason to follow him or detain him . Let not forget this guy isnt a cop son he doesn't have powers of arrest anyway . Bottom line this guy acted outside the scope oday what a neighborhood watch is ment to do . If he had he just observed the young man and waited for the police none of this would have happened . When its all said an done I believe he will be convected .

He can't claim self defense just because he initated the fight and got his ass whipped! This play cop was told to stay in his vehicle and he made the decision to act on his bias suspicions. Trayvon acted in self defense and the coward killed him! I hope he has to run for his life the way Trayvon did!

We do not know all of the facts so no one should really be giving any opinion on it. And the rallys and claims of racism are absurd.

The facts are, he said that he had suspicions, Trayvon was visiting someone who live there. He was told to stay in the vehicle and wait for the real police, He did not. His suspicions were wrong, and someone is dead. Racism comes into play because the killer was suspicious because of his race!

Little child? 6'3" 150# is a little child? The shooter was an obese 5'9". A witness says Trayvon initiated the struggle and went for Zimmerman's gun. Let's wait for all of the evidence to come out before reaching a final conclusion. It is easy to be drawn by the siren call of the media lynch-mob.

If the white kid was killed because he was white it's a hate crime. The color of the participants don't matter. It's the same as 1st degree murder and manslaughter. The intent is the difference.

As easy and appealing as it may be to believe EVERYTHING that appears in the media, reports and writers do lie and exaggerate to generate excitement. None of us would want to be convicted by the media without evidence. I think we should wait for the facts. A neighborhood watch captain has no business confronting anyone. He should be calling the police but I don't think public opinion should convict him of everything without the facts. I will pray for the lost 17 year old and his family and wait for the whole truth.

Those tapes that clearly reveal the 911 operator’s instructions are going to be damning for George Zimmerman. He went against instructions and instigated this situation. There has to be some criminal liability for the shooter in this situation. He wasn’t “defending” himself at all.

He had no way of knowing that following the kid would lead to the boy attacking him, and he was under no obligation to follow "orders" from anyone. He had the right to engage the young man in a few questions, just as Martin had a right to tell him to go f$%k himself. Zimmerman might have been stupid, but that was no excuse for the kid to attack him. It sounds like that is what happened. I guess you also blame the girl that got mauled by the two black women at Walmart, right?

How did the kid get into a gated community anyhow? Who ever drove him in or accepted or allowed his entry should be known. Was he even suppose to be there?
I saw current pictures of him on the internet (if it was him) saying "hello" in his special way, which obama would not want to claim him as his own..if he had a son....laugh, laugh.

We know that an innocent person, minding their own business was killed by a known idiot with a gun. I own many guns and have a carry permit. I also have an understanding of this awesome power and my responsibility.

You speak as though Trayvon don't have the same right of self defense or "stand your ground". He was going on his merry way talking on his cell phone with his iced tea and Skittles; then a wanna be nut case that uses his gun as an anatomy extension decided to provoke an unwarranted confrontation. Fellow gun owners you need to learn that there are no OOPS once you squeeze the trigger,you play you pay.
