If it is documented that the shooter, Zimmerman, was attacked, it was justifiable self-defense. He had a gash on his head and a broken nose.

The "stand your ground" law does NOT apply in this case. It went out the window when Zimmerman pursued Mr. Martin. You are not covered by this law when you create a confrontation. Mr. Zimmerman was specifically told NOT to pursue by the 911 operator. He should be arrested and prosecuted for manslaughter/murder.

I completely agree. If anything the boy had the right to use whatever force he needed to get out of that situation. Zimmerman pursued him.

It was unusual and unnecessary force. The boy should not be dead no matter what.

The witness saw Zimmerman head for his car after the dispatcher told him to not pursue the punk. The black youth followed Zimmerman and attacked him!! The eyewitness has stated that the screams heard on the 911 tape, are from Zimmerman!!! The black youth got what he deserved! An independant eyewitness exonerates Zimmerman 100%

So, just because it's Fox it isn't true? You must be a libtard that listens to the race baiting on MSNBC. I've seen the same reports and will retract my previous statement. Trayvon was using deadly force on Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman returned the use of deadly force. Case closed, with no charges for a man that was saving his own life.

You're delusional. Deadly force while holding a bag of skittles? Lol Just watched it and the original homicide officer working the case wanted Zimmerman brought up on manslaughter charges. Also, there is absolutely no proof that the child ever attacked Zimmerman, but there is proof from the 911 call that he was following the poor kid.

What I love about this is the photos the media keeps showing. Let's find a pic of Trayvon that makes him look like a sweet lil boy, not the other pics where he is holding up his gang signs trying to look cool. Next lets use the mugshot of Zimmerman, not a real life shot where he is dressed nice. This case may be trajic but the people are tired of low life's stealing our things and getting away with it. I think it's time we show those who do what potentially could and should happen to them.

He still didn't deserve to die! For crying out loud he didn't even have a gun. Zimmerman was in the wrong. He is trained not to use deadly force unless needed. In this case it was not needed! They might show innocent photos but that's how the parents want to remember him. They lost there son. Have some respect.

No proof??!!!! There is an independent eye witness that saw the black youth follow and assault Zimmerman. Zimmerman received a broken nose, a gash on his head, and had grass stains on his back. He had to shoot the dope dealing, gang member, to save his own life!!! That little punk was no angel.

My original post was made when the only story out was that Mr. Zimmerman pursued, then shot the kid. Now that a more full picture of the situation has come out, I don't stand by my original posting. The kid is the one who was the aggressor and was using DEADLY force by pounding the guy's head into the concrete. Deadly force was met in kind with deadly force. A PERFECT application of the "stand your ground" law.

Well, the pictures on that link look like typical teenager pics to me. Have a look at the Facebook accounts of pretty much any average teen an this is what you'll see. I know that if I was walking home from the store and some random guy started to follow me I would be scared. If he approached me in a menacing way I would defend myself, I think anyone would. This child didn't know what this man planned to do to him. Was he supposed to just wait and see? Bottom line, Zimmerman should not have pursued. He should have allowed the police to show up and question the child. Had that happened, the boy would still be alive and Zimmerman wouldn't have to live with the fact that he killed someone. Catastrophe averted.
