Trayvon Martin Debate - Clarksburg, WV

Tired of media jumping on little facts and run with it........Waiting for more information

I'm not really following this story, can someone sum it up for me? I know that it was an African American boy shot by a latina neighborhood watch member. That is about it, lol.

this is far from a cut and dry case, twisted by the media

How and why is race/ethnicity even relevant in this incident. I don't know the facts of the case, really don't care, but if the shooter and victim were the same color, would this have become a media frenzy?

Medias bias, I just want the facts of the case. Could you or anyone shed some light? I know that they have testimony from a friend of his who was on the phone, something about a video of him with no injuries, someone screaming on an audio tape.

From alot of what i've read & watched it appears the shooter Zimmerman who folks in the neighborhood had complained about prior to this for over-stepping boundaries in the neighborhood watch program, was told not to follow this kid who possessed a bottle of tea & a bag of skittles, Trayvon expressed fear/concern to his girlfriend he was speaking on the phone with (phone records reflect this). I listened to various 911 calls,one caller a female actually cried after seeing Trayvon shot it's a tragic situation, from my view law enforcement dropped the ball,Zimmerman should be charged with murder,(he pursued the boy after 911 told him not too, Trayvon's father lived in the gated community where this took place thats where Trayvon was returning to)as a parent my heart aches, burying your child is unimaginable to me, i'd want Justice!! i fail to see where demonstaring in Fairmont is in any way effective, but folks will do what they do

He was not told not to follow him, that is spin.... He was told in a very uninspired tone "we don't need you to do that"

Probably so.....you have a grown man walking around with a loaded gun and takes it upon himself to STALK someone...on foot.... and what exactly did this kid do wrong?

He attacked Zimmerman, he took it to a physical level!!

You take a risk when you make the choice to run up and attack someone, you risk they might have a knife or gun. That is the choice he made when he became the aggressor. At that point he put Zimmerman in the self defense mode....the shooting was sad, should not have happened, but justified none the less. The defendand will be found not guilty. A pursuit of a 2nd degree murder charge is obsurd!! At the very most they should have tried for some form of manslaughter.

We do know for a fact...Zimmerman stalked the kid for no reason, atleast no lawful reason. What came next and who attacked who has not been established. Two sides to everything. Zimmerman felt he had the right to stalk and hunt someone like an animal, even used a racial slur to describe the kid....2nd knowing he was a young teenage boy, at his age he was probably scared to death to see a grown man following him and we don't know at what point he pulled the gun out or who hit who first.

Plus a Domestic Violence arrest! I'd like to know how this guy is even carrying a gun??? I guess it's a good thing his daddy was a retired Judge......

You are not stating facts you are stating Bullshit.

You are willing to assume Zimmerman had no "reason" to follow this kid even though the neighborhood had several break ins, and Martin was suspended from school for being caught with burglar tools and womens jewelry in his back pack...that is a fact. Is that not a huge assumption on your part?

the story about the racial slur was a rumor started by the media that has been proven to be false, it was some static that people thought they heard the word coon, that was NOT TRUE, and has been reported as false. The tape was even enhanced by the FBI and 100% proven that is NOT on the tape.

Last you are describing him as a young scared teenage boy, he is a 17yo 6'2 MAN, Much bigger than Zimmerman. Can you tell the difference between a 6'2 17yo and a 6'2 21yo in a hoodie genius? That is just stupied.

Last you state we do not know when he pulled the gun, once again NOT TRUE, the one eye wittness saw the fight he clearly described the guy in the red shirt on his back getting punched in the face and screaming for help, he did not see the shot because he looked away to call the police but he was an eye wittness to treyvon viciously beating zimmerman who was on the ground.

those charges were dismissed...do you know how the legal system works....and he never had a domestic violence arrest he had a domestic violence protection order filed against him and he also filed one on the same female. Getting a DVP is easy, I have never met you and i could go get one on you right now.

No trial, no conviction, charges dropped = In U.S.A not guilty of any crime. Surely someone of your vast I.Q. should know the difference.

Mary Cutcher and her roommate, Selma Mora Lamilla, appeared on AC 360 and Cutcher stated that she believes "there was no punching, no hitting going on at the time, no wrestling" just prior to the shooting, and admitted that she neither saw the shooting nor the preceding altercation. Cutcher and her roommate heard the pair in their backyard and a "very young voice" whining, with no sounds of a fight. They heard a gunshot; the crying stopped immediately, and they saw Zimmerman on his knees straddling Martin on the ground. Mary Cutcher phoned police after the fatal shooting and said the black man was standing over another man, although Trayvon Martin was already dead. According to the Orlando Sentinel article, "Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Morgenstern [on March 15] issued a statement disputing Cutcher's version of events, calling her statements to WFTV "inconsistent with her sworn testimony to police. However, Cutcher and her roommate maintain that their account of the incident to the police did not agree with Zimmerman's, and they demanded the police retract that incorrect statement.

Martin's mother says the shouting for help heard on some of the 911 calls is her son's voice. Zimmerman's father says his son was the one calling out. The former is relied upon in Corey's Affidavit of probable cause for second degree murder. The latter is not mentioned. Corey is the special prosecutor.

I guess for every witness for Zimmerman, there is one against him. And I like how you argue that charges were dropped against Zimmerman but Martin's backpack incident was over a year ago and all the contents were sent to the police and nothing matched any reports of stolen property but that makes him a bad kid??? umm what was it you said? NO TRIAL>>>NO CONVICTION= NOT GUILTY IN THE USA.... I will state again....TOO MANY UNKNOWN UNPROVEN FACTS!!
