Trayvon Martin Debate - Charlotte, NC

All I know is a man has claimed self defince which is unlikley. I want the DA's office to take their time, but it looks like Mr.Zimmerman will be going to prison for a very long time. At a minimum, he will be servingfor man slaughter. But, more likely, Murder II.

It does not take away from this tragedy. You are right; black are more likely to be killed by other blacks. And, that is a damn shame. You have no argument from me.

The investigation is incomplete. Zimmerman may very well have committed a crime and if so, should be punished. Until both sides are thoroughly examined, any judgement is premature.

The judgement will be the same as it always is for the innocents...
They will be charged....

If the idiot shot the kid because the kid would not stop attacking him, then it is self defense.
Period.

The laws are pretty specific when it comes to using deadly force.

From what the witnesses, so far, have said, the kid attacked him while he was walking "back" to his truck.

That indicates the idiot was disengaging.

Just because you are an idiot is no reason to have to give up the right to defend oneself.

Granted, the idiot was looking for trouble, and had he shown much better judgement, this would not have happened.
However, if the kid had not attacked him, this also would not have happened.

And what about the kid. What would have happened had he attacked an unarmed person.

There is nothing illegal about provoking people. Stupid yes, but not illegal.

it is always illegal to attack someone.

It is a shame that the black fathers are teaching their kids how to behave in public, ONLY because they don't want them to get killed.

I would think they would teach their kids to behave because that is the right thing to do.
Not because it keeps you from getting killed.

Teaching them to behave in public might help with the cops. They shoot unarmed black kids at least a couple of times a year.

White citizens shoot unarmed black kids every few years.

Black kids shoot black kids about 40 times a day.

Tis a shame these black fathers are not giving more relevant instructions.

Like how to stay away from thugs and gangbangers.

And if the Gov and the idiot citizens that elect them would just regulate drugs, we could stop most of the killings overnight.

Why do so many people in this country try to solve the wrong problems?

The real issue is that many of our black children are fatherless. That is the real tragedy! nice catching up with you again. It has been a few years...

The real issue is that this is a tragedy no matter the race. George Zimmerman was clearly wrong, but I bet Trayvon did a few things to make this a problem for himself....just a hunch

That is still wrong! The only difference is when they do, they get tossed into jail immediately. It is NOT a black or white issue, but a wrong or right issue. Failure to see injustice to our people means only one thing about you.......guess what that is!!!

I know that this has been made a race issue, but i have to applaude the # of other races that has flocked to Trayvons defense. America needs a wake up call. Every race that this country has mistreated has been rebuilt, restored and repayed EXCEPT for the blacks that they have trated bad for years and it still continues!!!

White people have some one speaking up for them all the time. Why do they need them to speak out for them. Do you think that if this was a white kid, shot by someone of a different race, you guys would be asking for an arrest. Be honest with yourself before you answer.

Plus now we find out the kid approached the idiot, knocked him to the ground and banged his head against a sidewalk. The witness says yes, the 911 call also indicates this, and the wouonds on zimmermans head show this.

No wonder he shot that little thug.

This is not a good poster child for gun control.

Zimmerman is not the best example either, he should have stayed in the truck.

If you are going to fight for the respect and equal protection under the law, there are better examples than Trayvon. If you are going to fight for your right to use deadly force, there are better example than George Zimmerman.
