Trayvon Martin Debate - Asheville, NC

before we let emotions rise and do something stupid, wouldn't it be wise to wait for the facts?

2 interesting facts:

I looked up the FBI hate crime statistics for NC. Amazingly, Asheville (pop. 77,000) has the same number of hate crimes as Charlotte. Also, the majority of hate crimes are perpetrated by whites.

The reason the majority are perpetrated by whites. Is because of how it is reported. A black on white crime is just considered a crime. Let a white do anything against anyone other then a white and it's a hate crime. Plain and simple there is much more hate in the black community towards whites. just is not reported as such.

The media is portraying martin as a innocent 10 year old. He's not. The pictures they show send an image of a sweet young boy. These pictures are several years old. Show the pictures of him with god teeth in and pants around his knees flipping off the camera. Explain he attacked the shooter and an eyewitness stated he was on top of him beating him BEFORE the shooting took place. Don't slant the story in EITHER direction. If the shooter was wrong then prosecute him, if not then leave him alone, bury another youth we failed and learn how we can reach these kids before they become statistics.

So, I am just saying that before jumping to hate crime or hate anything lets just get the facts. If it was a "hate crime" it would still be a crime leave race out of the court room. If it is a crime, then they should be punshied of a crime. Lets get over this bullcrap of everything is a hate or race crime. The dude isnt even full white. I am not saying if the guy was right or wrong. I am just saying lets just call everything that is wrong a crime and everything that is right is right. I hate hearing the get out of jail free card with hate crime it is stupid. Just call it a crime if it is a crime.

Z was told by 911, "We don't need you to do that" which is different from "not to follow". Z was following, but from the account of Z and witnesses T circled back and approached Z at his vehicle. It appears T struck Z first. Let the law handle it.

There is some evidence that zimmerman was attacked as he has said.

Two witnesses have come forward and testified that Trayvon in fact did attack first and Zimmerman was justified in protecting himself. Such a shame that all this protesting and organized walks were done for no reason other than to promote racism. I wonder if the bounty placed on Zimmerman by the BLACK panthers will now be reversed and placed on the family that is responsible for this tragedy. Shouldn't this be against the law for a radical group to take situations like this into their own hands before getting the facts and inciting riots or is it OK for the blacks to take the law into their own hands and do as they please? Now the mother is wanting to trademark her son, for what? As I see it, what he has done is nothing more than what many others before him have done, Millions are in prison for it, sadly he didn't make it.

Wearing a hoodie does not deserve death. It would be interesting if the kid was white.

"Stand Your Ground" does not mean you can follow the person and shoot the person dead. REGARDLESS if there may have been any altercation.

he is not a murderer until he is convicted. So we will wait and see. However if it is found that Trayvon attacked first. Then he got what he deserved. if it is found to be the other way. Then Mr. Z will get what he deserves. Bottom line, Be careful who you jump!

I believe this poster stated he was not around here but in Marion NC. Why it shows as Weaverville makes me suspicious that it may be a very little man from down that way. This was in another thread "Newcomers living in Asheville" I apologize for his stupidity.
