Immigrants & K-12 Debate - Woodbridge, VA

We have immigration laws. Either obey them or get out. I also don't buy in to this interpretation that just because a child is born on American soil means they are citizens. They cannot even vote until they reach age 18. That's PLENTY of time to file citizenship papers. As for their parents, they should have thought about it before they went to a foreign country.

Only legalized citizens need to go to school K-12 in USA. It adds to the cost of education for tax payers.

Would you let Kim Jung il now Kim Jung dead's child enter school here?

The children don't have a choice to be legal or illegal. All children should have an education!

I'm sorry. That's over the line. I don't believe in giving things to people that they don't earn properly, but to call children "larvae", that's over the top. I love ALL kids; I just feel sorry some of them have such STUPID parents.

No --- public education is a benefit that should be reserved for US citizens. Currently - free medical care (through the ERs, usually) and education are magnets ... draws for illegal migration.

Also --- the US is the only country I know of where birth is the sole determinant of citizenship. Not true of those "socialist" European countries that continually criticize the US means of health and education delivery. Citizenship should not just be a benefit of birth --- especially if the parents are ijn teh country illegally. If illegal - the goal is to drop a kid --- as they believe they will give them a free pass to stay in the US to care for their young "citizen"

Education is not "free".
It is payed for by taxpayers and is intended for our hard working American families and legal residents.

YOU can pay for illegals if you wish, but the overwhelming majority of Americans are sick and tired of being forced to pay for illegal criminals.

By the way, somebody here has a good point. Have you EVER checked a county budget sheet? You can see one at the public library. As it has been said, education is NOT "free". OVER 50% of OUR COUNTY TAXES GOES TO PUBLIC EDUCATION.

the kids r here to learn u white ppl shouldnt be trying to take them out if skool let them have thier education and in order for that thier parents have be thier but u white ppl are taking them away thier parents are hard workers and u guys are taking them away take away the guys that are gang members and dnt have a life and send them back were they came from and not only the hispanics from every race they dnt have the rites to be here if they r just screwing around
