What part of "illegal" don't you understand? Did you even read the post before you started spewing your pseudo intellectual garbage?
What part of education don't YOU understand?

You want schools to take on a new role in ensuring that all children who enroll are in the country legally.

My argument is that schools are no place to fight that fight.

They are not contributing to the school system through taxes, etc. If there are no consequences to being illegal, why would they want to do it the right way?
They are living somewhere and paying rent (in all likelihood). The rent pays property taxes--which support schools. Depending on how it is that they are working (in some cases they are using bogus SS#, etc--which means that they can work jobs where taxes are withheld). They are also spending money, which means that they are paying sales taxes.

There may well be reasons for them not to be here, but assuming that they don't pay taxes that support schools is not accurate.

When enrolling Little Glitter for Kindergarten, I had to provide proof of address, a copy of her vaccinations, what's one more piece of paper.

My argument is that I pay my taxes that go towards the school plus any other subsequent school fees, i.e. if my son wants to take photography, there's a fee attached to that. Maybe I wouldn't have to pay those additional fees if my money went towards the kids that are here legally.

All immigration to America should be through legal channels; no illegal immigrants are entitled to specific rights (other than normal human rights) or services until they become legal immigrants. All should be considered liable to arrest and deportation.
Generally that is the case. However, there are disagreements about how to go about arrest and deportation. Some people think that we can jump in with two jack-booted feet and just kick out everyone who doesn't belong.

Typically educators and health care professionals resist taking on a law enforcement role--particularly if it means that people don't get education or health care as a result, recognizing that there are broad consequences to both of these things.

In the long run get tough measures usually fail to accomplish what they were implemented to do. More often they ramp up things like phony documentation rings and the like (not to mention breaking up families--something that more than one Republican candidate has alluded to).

Strategies that help are economic development of the countries that illegals are fleeing, clamping down on enterprises here that hire (and import) illegals, and rooting out human trafficking rings that bring in numbers of illegal persons.

But some of us would rather spend time making certain that children don't learn to read.

The schools are the perfect place to fight this fight. When it becomes clear to illegal parents their actions will affect their kids without regard to their "minor" status some will leave or not risk coming here once word gets out in their homeland. Kids are being used as powerful pawns by the Pro-Illegal factions to advance their agenda. It's time to show what happens to pawns during the course of the game; cuffed in school and put on a bus for detention and deportation!

And that one more piece of paper would be ...?

As I pointed out, most illegals are also paying taxes as well.

I know someone who is an ESL teacher. The families that he works with are already complicated. Family members sometimes disappear (arrested or go into hiding), leaving a child with another relative. Some kids who are legally US citizens, by birth, have parents who are not. School may be one place that is providing stability.

Trust me--they do not want to become an arm of ICE. They want to teach.

Local law enforcement likewise has good reason to resist taking on immigration enforcement duties. They depend on their ability to build trust with the community to do their job. They cannot do this if people who are victims of or witnesses to crimes refuse to cooperate with them out of fear of deportation.

Your last paragraph, I think is one of the most inane things that you have ever posted. We leave them alone so they'll help the police? We know how well witnesses come forward that are here legally.
See my above post, my son was leaving for work at the same time, brain fart!

Don't use LifeBuoy. I saw in a movie once that said it causes blindness.

Little puzzle for you Glitter.

Figure that one out, good Christmas time Story.

Admit, had to google, been a long time since I watched that movie. First thought took me back to my Grandparent's house, they used that brand.

According to Bob my mouth is cleaner than my body right now.

And who in a school is going to be collecting all that documentation?

And at the end of the day, what will be accomplished?

And btw--the policy of law enforcement is not something that I made up. It is the basis for their practices.

Seriously?

I knew it right off. Got the whole flick practically memorized.

I not only grew up in Cleveland, but close to the same era. I actually went downtown to see Higbee's window, and the multi-story tree and Sterling Lindner Davis and Mr. Jingaling at Halles.

Can you believe that my brothers actually played not only with toy guns, but cap pistols?

Cap pistols, with the red tape that you load them with, had one. Tomboy at heart. No guy on this forum would want to play catch with me.

I'm just not a big movie watcher.

Gee, my first post of this disappeared. Wonder what happened....

Want to solve the immigration problem? Stop corruption on both sides of the border.

Recipe for genocide (current day Mexico):

1) International bankers completely buy off a spineless puppet government

2) Guns are outlawed for ordinary citizens to "protect the people" (If Mexico wants their country back they need overturn the gun ban and arm innocent civilians so they can protect themselves -they also need to legalize drugs to put the drug cartels out of business -and their corrupt government knows it)

3) The corrupt church (Catholic in this case) tells people this can all be solved by praying for a better tommorow and by a donation to their world church

4) The international banker's private security force ,In this case the CIA, starts assasinating anyone that tries to get the message out -blaming it on drug related violence that they create a.k.a. Obama and Holders Fast and Furious program modeled after the Iran-Contra deal

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-06-29/bank...

5) Kids are forced to take a live cancer shot (Gardasil) to attend school -The shot is said to protect against cancer when it actually infects kids with cancer- Never let your kids take this shot , we did just fine without out it all these years:

http://trenches.wordpress.com/2008/03/14/the-...

And yes they are creating race-specific killer viruses targeting race-specific genetic markers

http://www.byroncrawford.com/2009/04/is-mexic...

Thus the genocide continues because the people just take it...

Genocides are usually hidden in plain sight. Like recessions -we only agree they've occured when they are over and in the history books.

Do you really want to allow this in America next?

Get informed:

http://rss.infowars.com/Alex.rss

Mexico needs to have a revolution right now to fix this before they are exterminated en masse. Running from one country to the next is not an option anymore.

There is no where to run as this tyranny is going global using the same tactics. They can fix their drug problems easily by legalizing drugs so the drug cartels go out of business overnight due to there being no money in this.

http://www.topix.com/forum/news/immigration/T...

Beware...

Governor Jerry Brown just passed Gardasil legislation in CA where young kids no longer need parental consent to get the Gardasil shot at school. Expect this in your state soon.

http://www.ageofautism.com/2011/10/ab499-pass...

Regarding Gardasil, parents will bankrupt themselves handing over every last penny of their life savings to the medical industry to help their kid fight cancer. This is pure evil. The medical industry gets rich of this type of blood money.

Don't let anyone scare/brainwash your kids into getting this killer shot! The flu shots and some vaccinations are already linked to alzheimers, autism and cancer.

Will they start showing Gardasil scare-tactic/propaganda movies to kids in the classroom using peer pressure to get them to take the shot at school without parent's permission? Who knows...

The ellites and their bought out government puppets are out of control. It's now proven they tried to use this illegal gun running program to overturn the 2nd ammendmant and disarm America. It has taken American lives and proven this administration is completley illegitimate. Bush stated it, Obama/Holder expanded it. Is this change you can believe in?

This is Obama's Watergate and it will cost him the 2012 election. They've undersestimated the damage -give it time...
