It's just plain cruel not to. I love children! The way out of adversity is attaining education. It would be interested to see the demographic breakdown of those voting no! After all, slaves weren't allowed to read and write either! "The man" is always trying to keep the masses down by keeping thwm dumb!

Unfortunately the courts ruled back in the 1980s that Texas had to provide taxpayer funded education to illegal alien minors in Texas. I do not feel the taxpayers should and all need to be deported back home along with their parent or parents if they too are illegal aliens. I feel for the children of course but the parents do not need to be rewarded with a no cost to them education of thier child by the parent breaking at least one law, being here illegally.
Most illegals come from Mexico and in mexico it is against the law for any non citizen to receive state funded education, healthcare, any other social service, and so on. Until 6 months ago an illegal alien was not even allowed to file a police report.
Mexico routinely deports illegal alien minors it catches, Texas CPS regularly has to go to one of the border bridges and pick up an American born child who has been dropped off by Mexican CPS or police as the child is an illegal alien in Mexico and Mexico actually enforces its laws.

Austinite is correct as the courts have ordered Texas to educate illegal aliens and in effect Texas taxpayers pick up the entire bill through their property taxes.
I do not think it is right as all along the border Mexican children cross over to attend school in Texas border towns and use bogus address there to enroll yet nothing is done about it.
Every illegal alien needs to be deported, period, what part of illegal is not understood.
I find it particularly amusing that Texas gives in state tuition to illegal aliens who graduate high school in Texas. So, the person takes up a spot at a university in Texas, pays less than another person from out of state or country who is here legally, and say the illegal gets a degree in nursing, teaching, history, or botany. How are they legally going to work with that education since they cannot without a valid SS#.
Go to Mexico as an illegal alien and try to attend public school there. The school by law notifies police, who come arrest you then deport you right away. It is illegal in Mexico for non citizen or legal residents to get any sort of public services, including school.

No one should gain from an illegal activity. If they are out anything its because of the actions of their parents. They can get their free education where they legally reside.

No way but if they live here and are in disctrict then the law says the school has to take them in.
Ironically thousands of Mexican children cross the border every school day to attend school in Del Rio, El Paso, Laredo, and so on. They use bogus address and such but go to the border bridges and just watch them flood over. There are even literally Mexican buses and vans full of kids crossing over and literally dropping the kids off at the schools on the Texas side.

I think eveyone who voted no here is racist. Ya'll wanna have your holier than now speeches as this is wrong and illegal. And its wasting our tax payers money. How much money does Mitt Romney waste on his campaign to try to become president. And where did all that money come from. And what about all these governors and senators their under the table salaries. So its wrong for a young child no matter what race legal or illegal to have a better oppurtunity in life? Ya'll people are purely selffish. My family were immigrants all but me. I was blessed to be here. My family was blessed to have assitance I'm greatful for it everyday. But for you people to look down on people who fight to have a better future it's sad. Because you think you have more rights than others because your ancestors came over on a boat rather than swim a river is ignorant. And I know someone is going to come on here and spew some constitutional law, but I really don't care. I am living proof that giving oppurtunity is a beautiful thing.

There is nothing wrong with trying to better yourself or your family but breaking laws to do it not acceptable and criminals need to be punished.
Immigrate to a country legally and there is no problem, criminally enter a country then you are and illegal alien and nothing more than a common criminal, take something that does not belong to you and you are just a common thief.

For you it may be beautiful, but why are we americans expected to pay for it? Why should you and your family benefit from my tax dollars I had to work my butt off to pay? Why don't I have a choice on how my taxes are spent? Why should you benefit from me getting up for work every day at 4:30 am and working 10-12 hours a day? I haven't broken a single law yet I'm expected to take care of you. Why don't my hard working, naturalized citizen parents qualify for various welfare programs, yet they are expected to pay their taxes and pay for you? They can't afford health insurance for themselves yet they are required to take care of you? WHY?

Whites willing to leave a child without an education because of no other reason than their hatred for Mexicans! Sickening to say the least. I give advice to any undocumented Mexicans on how to get government handouts, free medical care, food stamps, rent, etc. Just Ask:)
