We must take our country back from this corporate republic! The Citizen's United decision ended "government by the people for the people." We must take back our country from the Super PACS, funded by the corporations.
We are the 99%!

You "take your country back" through the ballot box! That's the way a democracy works and should work! What you people on BOTH political extreme fringes (left and right) mean by that phrase is make everything the way YOU want it to be, a country to step totally in line with your own biased agenda! Most Americans are really not on those extreme fringes no matter how much you believe or wish they were! Mainstream elections prove that time and time again!

I'm sure that my blue collar middle income status puts me in the 99 per cent but frankly I don't want to be represented by a bunch of slackers, welfare recipients, burned out hippies and pierced punk anarchists who are only interested in doing their "any excuse for a riot" property trashing act. That's unfortunately what most (admittedly not all) of your occupiers are. Disobeying laws, battling the police, vandalizing and destroying public and and private property is now way to win the hearts and minds of people you need to have on your side. So far you've accomplished absolutely nothing besides your excesses giving the right wingers more ammunition to defeat Obama and other Democrats in Congress. Rush and Newt love you!

I don't want to be represented by you leftist lunatics any more than I want to be represented by the bible thumping, right winger Tea Bagger crowd or the Republican party itself which is now pandering to these extremist fools. If you think I'm turned on the the current Republican Presidential Candidate Clown Show think again!

Roy,
Do you know anything about the Citizens United Case or Super PACs (Political Action Committees)? Do you know why these are a threat to our republic?

Yeah I'm familiar with the case and the decision! It was a close and controversial (5-4) Supreme Court decision where the First Amendment apparently persuaded the majority of the Court. I don't think the Super PACs are healthy, wish they didn't exist but as a nation of laws we have to live by the decisions of our courts. Both parties now use Super PACS to their advantage of course. You also have to remember that special interest groups and the fat cats have been "buying" elections with excessive spending and distorted advertising for decades. Is this really anything new? I don't think so!

I stand by the assertion that the Occupiers have accomplished NOTHING positive so far, only given the far right (by their law breaking and violent excesses) more ammunition to defeat Obama and other Democrats in the fall.

You are wrong - this is new. Before Citizen's United there was a limit. After Citizens United there is no limit. This undermines our electoral process. When the electoral process is broken, then we must fix it or have a revolution!
Thomas Jefferson said “Every generation needs a new revolution” and
“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”
What the occupiers have done is to open the discussion and debate on the control corporations have over our government. Before the occupations, you were not permitted to question the power of corporations, for fear of being called a "socialist". Now we don't care! If I am a socialist then so was Thomas Jefferson who wrote "the merchants have no country." Today, we know that "the corporations" have no country, but the corporations control our government.
I say we take it back!
Rise up! Rise up! We are the 99%.

I am well aware there was a limit before the Supreme Court decision. As I said the principal of majorities and special interest groups buying elections through mass and often distorted advertising has been with us for decades. Again we are a nation of laws and have to live with the decisions of our courts and in particular our highest courts. We can question or oppose their rulings but ultimately we have to abide by those rulings.

You're freaking dreaming if you think there is going to be a revolution, particularly a violent one to which the great majority of Americans are opposed. We've been hearing this nonsensical inflamed rhetoric since the spaced out hippie days of the 1960's! Change will come slow and come by the ballot box if indeed it comes at all. I hate to tell you self righteous lunatics but the majority still rules here. The sainted Thomas Jefferson seems to have been proven wrong in proclaiming "Every generation needs a new revolution!" It hasn't happened and it ain't going to happen except in the minds of delusional leftist lunatics like yourself and the rest of the Occupiers!

What the Hell do you mean we were not permitted to question the power of corporations for fear of being called a Socialist before the Occupy movement? That's more absolute nonsense...and besides why would being called a dreaded Socialist stop anybody from protesting. You're still being called rightly or wrongly called Socialists today? Who gives a rat's ass? In print and in speech noted politicians, professors, sociologists, authors and lay people have been condemning the power of corporations all through the 20th Century, probably long before, and continue to do so to this day in the 21st Century. I haven't heard about too many of them being ostracized, arrested or brought to trial for doing so.

Again like I said before you've accomplished absolutely nothing so far except give the right wing wackos more ammunition (by your law breaking and violent excesses) to defeat Obama and other Congressional Democrats this coming fall. You've alienated most of the 99 per cent (including me!) you need to have on your side. Polls show that most of the populace in general has a negative view of you anyway. Who can blame them for not wanting to be associated with a misguided and disorganized group of leftist lunatics, slackers, burned out hippies and pimply faced, pierced punk anarchists who as always are looking for "any excuse for a riot", just like a video game you understand?

"Rise up? you haven;t even woken up yet!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
