OWS is a good cause 'generally' but I fail to see how their effort will be rewarded. Wall Street is not going to listen to a bunch of people out on the street their worse than our government that is elected by "US" and "WE" can't control them either. And between the 2 'bed fellows' what kind of a direct effort can "WE" make to change things?
"WE" [The People} carry no weight in this country anymore. Wall Street is a global market and even the corporations have more global interests than they do 'US' ones.

There's nothing to prove, they've made their point, where do they go from here?

Break down of the Occupy Wall Street people.

Traffic on the Occupy Wall Street site averaged about 400,000 visitors a day during the sample week (October 7th), which represents more than 10% of the population. 1619 people completed the survey.

Age

Not surprising, nearly 2/3 of the protesters are under 35. But one in three is over 35 and one in five is over 45.

Racial/Ethnic background

81.3% of respondents considered themselves White, 1.3% Black\African American, 3.2% Asian,.4% Native American Indian, 2.9% Mixed, 7.7% Hispanic, and 3.2% considered themselves some other group.

Education

Only 7.9% of respondents lack at least some college.

27.4% have some college (but no degree), 35% have a college degree, 8.2% have some graduate school (but no degree), and close to 21.5% have a graduate school degree.

Employment Status

70% of respondents had jobs. 50.4% worked full time. 20.4% worked part time.

Only 13.1% are unemployed.

Income

47.5% of the sample earns less than $24,999 dollars a year and another quarter (24%) earn between $25,000 and $49,999 per year.

71.5% of the sample earns less than $50,000 per year.

15.4% of the sample earned between $50,000 and $74,999.

The remainder 13% of the sample earn over $75,000 with close to 2% earning over $150,000 per year.

Politics

27.3% of respondents considered themselves Democrats, another 2.4% said they were Republican.

Interestingly, a very large proportion of the sample, close to 70.3%, considered themselves Independents.

Cordero-Guzman concluded that the 99% looked like the 99%.

The one way they did significantly differ was in gender. 67% were male. 30.9% were female and 2% preferred another gender designation.

92.5% of the respondents either strongly or somewhat agree with the protests. Over 91.8% believe the movement is likely to grow.

That doesn’t mean the post is from someone in Minnesota you idiot, it means that is where the basis for their internet provider is listed as. I'm here in Greensburg but provider is never listed as here in Greensburg. But thank you for showing the typical Greensburg attitude of "your not from here"... I am totally appalled that till this day we have so many small minded individuals here who use that "your not from here" attitude. GET OVER YOURSELVES AND GROW UP!

WELL 90% OF HIPPIES were white too. News flash people lie when being surveyed and in reality if the 99 percent had been represented in the beginning they were probably ran out by the movements real energy. How many rapes, cop cars destroyed or dedicated on, drugs sold, or businesses need to be vandalised before people will either not stick up for them or will cosider themselves part of America's problem? These people would rather sit around and wine rather then find a way to get things done with what they have.

If you don't know what is going on in the world in which you find yourself in, turn off your television and go outside, it's a wonderful world.

I have a job, make decent money, have a family, pets, live in a decent neighborhood, grew up poor, blah blah blah. So do most of the other people I'm protesting with.

Orwell, you really expect people to beleive yur fairy tale. The portesters have no agenda, just hating America or earning a wage as a paid protester. That must have been where you got your emplyment numbers for your fairy tale.

A large percentage are homeless druggies, that had no idea what they where protesting.

You forgot to mention your sponsor, Soros, ex-nazi, anti capitalist and hater of america, since the fall of the third reich.

Michael Moore, no talent, hates america, anti capitalist and all around idiot. Also one of the 1%.

The socialist and liberals have only one agenda, to destroy America. There is hope for the American people, when our only enemy has no truth to them. We only need to expose them.

You obviously listen to way too much Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. You are the sort of sucker that makes the 1% laugh all the way to the bank while keeping the 99% as poor as possible so we will work for them cheap!

You have listen to Pelosi, Reid, Soros, Moore and the list goes on of upstanding marxist. Do you really think that 99% of Americans are poor? You need a little timeout, to allow your medicine to start working. You are acting like a marxist puppet, slow down and think about the subject before you reply.
