Obama inherited this huge mess from Bush. Even Europe and ultimately the Euro has been affected by Bush's policies and Investment Banker's manipulation of investment instruments. Wonderful Romney made hundreds of millions as an investment banker buying businesses firing people and profiting from their losses. The Republicans still think that the wealthy shouldn't pay more taxes which is why Romney who probably has more money than all the people of Paris combined paid less taxes than a cashier at our Walmart last year. I suppose you think that if McCain/Palin were in things would be better. Palin was a nobody who quit the Governership so she could go around making speeches for a $100,000 a pop. Her first speech after quitting was actually in HongKong for more than that. Even at one of her Teabagger events she mentioned how she was doing this for the people not for any self interest at the same time was being paid $75,000 for her short speech. Politicians in general are worthless they are like lawyers if their lips are moving a lie is coming out.

Yep! Obamba inherited a disaster from the Bush administration! Bush just let the large corporations, the banking and stockbrokers run wild with our counties assets!!! He thought that they would look after Our interest "sure". And We know whose intrest they looked out for.. WAL_MART a good example !! Destroyed every town economy they have opened a store in!! The little people just get pushed out. Then the selection gets less and their prices go through the ceiling!!

4 years, hell it's going to take a lot longer than that to repair the damage created by Bush and his cronies. Bush inherited the largest surplus in the history of this nation. What does he do he decides to give everyone a couple of hundred dollars to stimulate the economy. Overnight the surplus was erased and was downhill from there. Oil industry got wealthier. I guess there's no relationship that Bushes family is Oil money and Dick Cheney worth hundreds of millions and heavily invested into energy. It was one of the most corrupt administrations in recent times. Since KY is a republican state I guess all this is overlooked.

I guess all you Republicans forgot about the previous governor Fletcher who was involved with illegal contracts and just before he left office made an executive order that it couldn't be investigated. It must be nice to be able to exempt yourself from criminal proceedings.

More people are on public assistance because the banks allowed millions of people to take out mortgages that where way over their heads so they could collect their fees and interest. The investment bankers then created worthless securities with these combined mortgages collected huge fees and bonuses. The bottom fell out and millions lost their homes that is why their on assistance. Of course the bankers still have their McMansions.

No, I'm an independent. I vote across party lines for whom I feel is the best candidate. Usually sadly it becomes a choice of the lesser of evils.

You are soooo far in left field. People are were given outrageous mortgages because the democrats were pushing home ownership for everyone. They made(legislated) that everyone be approved for a home loan. ANd this is what you get. You keep giving out money, who's going to look for a job? No need to. Just hook up with a single mom and the gov't will support you for life. People, men especially, Need to stand up and quit depending on the Gov't for an income. It's supposed to be temporary assistance, not a way of life!

Hmmmm I thought the Republicans were in power for 8 years prior to Bush. It's the Republicans who are all big business. Giving investment banks and large corporations a free hand. That's why Exxon made the largest profit in the history of any company and did not have to pay taxes and got incentives from the Government on Bushes watch. Too this day the Republicans refuse to change that tax structure or any tax structure with regards to big business and the wealthy. Even the Oracle was concerned that he paid less taxes than his secretary. The republicans discounted his remark and still stressed the bogus comment how greater taxes to the wealthy would create less jobs. Let me tell you I own a business and make and do well. My taxes have nothing to do with my hiring decisions.

As for welfare and government asst. Twenty percent of the KY population are collecting disability. You know and I know the vast majority are not disabled in the least. They are just parasites living off the host. They should make major changes to how disability is awarded and retrain disability doctors in their assessment. Secondly those who are collecting disability and are doing the same things that got them disabled should lose their checks. For example, alcoholics who continue to drink, those with emphysema who continue to smoke. The vast majority of ER visits in this country are for minor reasons. Those with no insurance and those on public asst. who go for non-emergent conditions (allergies, colds etc.) should be charged $10 before being seen. Once it cuts into their cigarette money they'll think twice about going and wasting tax payers money for a runny nose. This alone would save billions a year. Single parents on public asst. should only collect for a fix time period say 2 years. No more incentives if they have additional children. Sure it will be difficult early on but when the message gets out that you're not going to get money for having children and doing nothing that will stop this craziness. I could go on and on you get the picture though.

I was not saying that Obama "made the mess". I am saying that he has not been successful at all in cleaning up the mess (as he promished). No....I do not think that McCain/Palin could have done any better. We can agree that politicians in general are worthless! I am committed to doing all I can as an individual to vote out all the jerks in Washington. Sure wish I could have more respect for our elected officials, but it seems they have no desire to meet the needs/desires of their constituents.

Years ago driving through New York State I listened to an hour talk show on the radio how Walmart comes into a community and kills the mom & pop businesses. You go Walmart keep supporting the taliban at Nirvana Water Bottling Company. Like Dave Mustane from the band Megadeth sings "Keep old plan running". The rich get richer and the poor just die. Keep fighting politicians while the whole world goes down the toilet.I am done with Obama, next Idiot!

Speaking the truth causes me to lose no sleep at night. It is safe to say that the majority of people on public asst. are abusing the system. I personally know several families who have used the system literally for generations. No one has ever worked an honest job from the grandparent on down to grandchildren. Clearly there are exceptions to the rule but sadly they are the minority. Our wonderful town is home to hundreds of deadbeats who never worked, claimed false disability, have children many times by different fathers, get section housing and sit back a wait for their checks and do nothing productive in the community. Many go to the pill mills in the bordering towns then sell their pain meds for extra cash. Am I lying? You know I'm not so no need to bring up going to church and being two-faced because it's irrelevant.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it. You're especially drawn to tempting little treats and luxurious indulgences.
