I believe the economy is the result of many years of fiscal stupidity. The belief that everything could just keep climbing, and non producers could keep taking cuts of the pie without contributing, was just insane. I fully believe that after 911, we should have went after Bin Laden, but the war in Iraq was completely unnecessary. Was Saddam Hussein a murderous bastard? Yes. Was it up to us to remove him? No. The war in Iraq was started on false information that too many people wanted to believe. The debt and loss of lives were(are) totally unnecessary. It is sad how the only ones spouting the term “acceptable causalities” are the ones with little chance of becoming one. Continuing to try and be the worlds police force, fighting two or more wars, allowing corporations to become too big to fail, bailing out failed corporations with tax payer money while allowing the people that caused the failure to remain in charge and collect $1,000,000.00+ bonuses (especially people that are not citizens of this country) is insanity. While the current President has his share of responsibility in this mess, he certainly is not the blame of any where near all of it. My big problem with Obama is while he had his super majority, he should have used it to fix this country's infrastructure. This could have provided American workers, with decent paying jobs, doing work that is necessary. A win win situation for a change. Money spent for necessary work, what a concept. Obama's health care is a joke, way too much time spent for not much benefit. Want to fix healthcare? It's simple, require insurance companies to charge everyone the same rate. If AARP or GM or anyone else negotiates a deal, everyone that is a citizen of this country gets the same rate and cannot be denied coverage. What ever is the lowest rate charged anyone, is the rate everyone gets charged. The marketplace would then dictate price. All insurance was a lot more reasonable before it became mandatory. Do the same for for the pharmaceutical companies. Any technology or product that is developed using tax payer grant money, becomes the property of the tax payer. No more price rape of the tax payer for products or technology paid for by the tax payer. The only way we will ever fix this country is to remove the current politicians, install term limits, greatly downsize all government(s), and make the penalties for corruption severe enough to eliminate it.

Obama has been fighting an uphill battle in which congress has fought every one of his plans. He has compromised more than I would have liked him to, but he has made progress, and kept us all from financial collapse, which is where the previous administration was sending us. I had to take pay cuts like many of us did, but I can honestly say, I am better off than I was four years ago.
