to suggest that just because someone doesn't believe/follow your religion is a reason not to be allowed to marry the person that they love is small minded, petty, and wrong. Marriage is nothing more than a legal contract without which a couple could be denied visitation rights at hospitals, benifits from life insurance, and all sorts of other things. I think that everyone needs to remember that just because someone doesn't think or feel the way that you do doesn't mean they aren't entitled to the same rights as everyone else. There was a time not to long ago in this country when rights were denied to blacks and women as well and thankfully we realized that that was wrong. I can only hope that we come to our senses in this matter as well. Soon.

How would locking them up cause them to die out? Gays cant have children anyway so if you are trying to stop the spread of homosexuality you would be better served locking up all the straights so they would quit having gay children. Or maybe you would like to see our children locked up until they can be indoctrinated into hating everyone who is different.

I think it's the terminology- marriage is a union between a man and a woman. If they want to make civil unions legal- that's fine. But once the definition of marriage is changed To fulfill this minorities needs-then what's next? What's to stop a person from marrying their pig or their car? When will it stop? The pig- person and the car-person could claim discrimination and that their rights are being infringed upon. Marriage is a sacred union in which God should be front and center. Thats just my opinion.....

Also- think about God the next time you buy something at the store- every American currency has "in God we we trust"- not in Buddha, not in the Koran- in God- that's America's heritage.

as a matter of fact 'in god we trust' didn't appear on US currency until 1864. But sure I'll give you 'American heritage' however we also have a heritage of denying rights to blacks, women, and non-landowners. I think that when you're spouting about our 'heritage' you should think that we remember the past to avoid making the same mistakes. Denying rights to ANYONE because of your personal beliefs is wrong and we as a country are better than that.

My response to "how silly's" post obviously wasn't allowed by the moderator of this forum. So freedom of speech for Christian values is already suffering from the same sex marriage topic. Won't be back to post as it's a waste of time- just another site pushing the agenda of 1.5% of the population!

Conversations like this are exactly why people need to see the truth and recognize the christian bible for what it is.. A horrible book of homophobic, mysoginistic, bigoted, closeminded ideas. It's downright cancerous. It only gives people a reason to justify their small minded bigoted belief system. The majority of people who hate gay people and oppose their civil rights are people whose minds have been poisoned by their religious book.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Sagittarius

Don't be surprised if a member of the family is unpredictable or does things on the spur of the moment today. There's nothing to worry about because they won't do anything too alarming or disruptive. In fact, their actions will be like a breath of fresh air and they may even help you to escape from a current rut. So don't hesitate to be that little bit different yourself, either.
