I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. we have voted this down three times in California and it is now on the way to the Supreme court which will likely decide the issue for the whole country. President Obama knows this,but he needs a distraction.

The economy is still a mess, the war in afghanistan,is not over and it is not going well, the deficit is continuing to rise and the job situation is still pitiful.He has not done much about any of this except blame Bush,now he is breaking new ground by comming out in support of same sex marriage. Tha looks to me like about all he has to offer for a second term.

Marriage is between a man and a woman.Obama will say anthing he thinks will help him get votes where he needs them. He is going dowen in the polls imn California and New York, states he has to carry. So he comes out with this to help him in those states He knows he will not carry Tenn or the other Southern States so he does not care what you think. Just telling it like it is. I am not for him,but I see him lying, doing what ever it takes to get reelected.

Joe, who are you to define who marriage is between? President Obama can make that decision, that is why we elected him and will reelect him. He is wise and compassionate. He come to this decision after a great deal of study and thought.He wants everybody married and happy.

You are to blame for all these people being upset at President Obama. I have read a lot of your post and they are all anti-Obama and right wing. You should re amine in California and stop telling people all these tall tales about how bad things are where you live.

People will get used to this new breakthrough in human rights and will soon accept it. Just as the President says,it is a small step in a much longer journey.
Get behind President Obama and help him remake this country into a place where everyone is equal and happy.
