Marriage is a commitment of love and life. It may traditionally be between one man and one woman, but even in the bible the definition of marriage changed. Bigamy anyone?
Why deny others the opportunity to commit to each other before God or state?

Absolutely, a government institution shouldn't be able to discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

Never dictate to anyone who they can and cannot love. The mark of a good person is the ability to empathize and sympathize.

Let the people live in peace. As long as they pay taxes and are good citizens, I have no problem.

Marriage is 2 adults, man and woman, that can produce children by being together naturally.
Can't they come up with their own theme and not change the dictionary or all of are lives without a thought about it.Selfish. I don't judge them thats on them, but i'm against using the word marriage.

Can't they live their lives with each other and not change our meaning by using the word marriage, changing the dictionary etc.
I don't judge them, but If its so important just create your word and live it.
I'm against using the word marriage, not them .
Some of them are better people than non-gay people.
But create a word that works and then fight for it, leave us alone.
Obama is not what he appears to be, on all subjects.

So what are your views on infertile couples? They can't produce children naturally. Should they not be allowed the word 'marriage'?
What about arranged marriages? What is your view on that?
Not so long ago the world was up in arms as to if blacks and whites should be able to marry. Guess what it was one woman and one man of different races. What was the problem then?
What about transgendered people? or hermaphodites? When do we stop putting ourselves into smaller and smaller boxes? Are we to have a different term for every scenario? Some things just aren't everyones business, but that shouldn't change their rights to committment/marriage.
Please define 'selfish' and 'judgement'.
Personally the word 'marriage' is exactly that a word. It has as much weight as one choses to give it. Just the same as some racial slurs. I personally don't care what they call it, but I believe that it should come with the EXACT benefits and drawbacks as 'marriage' does.
As for the bible/church they are supposed to be separate from the state so it really has no bearing on the conversation. Remember not everyone in the world is christian and not every christian is the same.
I believe tolerance is the way.

I don't believe that it is a duty of the POTUS to decide this either way. His duties are limited and outlined in the Constitution.

Marriage is a man and a woman, if they want a union that's up to them but not marriage. The term marriage is a biblical for a man and woman marring. That being said you have to look at the bible for the definition. Bible dose not agree with Guy Marriage. Even in the time of Sodom and Gamora when guy couples were the norm they were not married. they were partners.

Your points are going to be ignored. I have yet to find anyone with a single argument against gay marriage that doesn't involve religious nonsense. The question is just an excuse for pious people to promote the bigotry found in that divisive book.
