Homosexuals should not be treated as second class citizens! Take religion out of the picture because marriage is not, and never will be, a "Christian" doctrine. Same sex couples should have the same rights as any other couple.

How would anyone know who is a homosexual unless they proclaimed it? If everyone was homosexual , who would reproduce? Should government recognize and condone all proclivities no matter how bizarre? Society will degrade with unlimited indulgences , just like Rome.

That is the trouble in this country when people say that religion shuld not be involved. It is just the oppopsite.We need God in all that is being done.

In which case who decides what religion and version of God is toi be followed? Don't forget the crusades and the Spanish Inquisition.

The definition of marrage is a union between a man and a women. Nobody is saying that you cannot get married. Now if you want to marry someone of the same sex, that is different. You want a new law and you want a definition change. These 2 things do not exist but in Illinois we do have civil unions. This allows same sex couples to share the same laws as a married couple, so what is the problem? Unless all you really want to do is attack the term marrage, the same laws already apply.
