The Civil Union/Same Sex Marriage debate is a distraction away from important issues facing this country today. Let the states decide whether same sex marriage is right for them and let's move on.

Get a clue. Gay marriage will not lead to people wanting to marry children, animals or inanimate objects. Where do you get that idea. Even if they did want to, you forgot a very important fact: animals, children and inanimate objects can't give consent.

Pedophiles don't want to marry children; they want to sexually molest them. That is not an act of love, and it is harmful to the child, so no judge in the world would even consent to an adult marrying a child.

We are talking about love between two mature human beings.

While viewing the video of Jane Svoboda, an incredibly misinformed and perhaps seriously deranged woman,‘testifying’ before the Lincoln Nebraska City Council. My jaw dropped to the floor and I was unable to close the gap. She was railing against a proposed LBGT protection ordinance. From her opening salvo about a television show in Holland titled Winter Wipeout and her claim it featured the wholesale slaughter of human beings, attributing the slaughter to it being produced by “gays, bis and orgiers.” From asking why they like to watch people perishing, to spelling out the word penis, to claiming that the thrill of gay sex was in the murder by penetration of said penis into the intestines of the receiving partner. It was a non-stop freak show of a speech. And that was just the first 40 seconds of her five minutes before the Council.
