Hey how about we get government AND religion out if marriage and let it the consenting adults decide what they are. Civil union, marriage, life partner
It's up to the people IN the relationship. It's none of y'all business anyway.

Sodom and Gomorrah is a story, not an actual event.
I, and many other Americans, are not Christians. Why should we have to live by Christian religious rules?
You don't! Thats what freedom is all about. Everyone has the freedom to choose, or I should say "used to have that freedom." But that right is being taken away from christians , you see and hear about it everyday now.
Just this morning on the news, a first grade teacher decided that the first graders could not sing Lee Greenwoods famous song " God Blessed the USA was offensive and would not let them sing it after they had practise it for three weeks.
You don't have to live by christain rules, but why do you want everyone else by yours?

Christians do NOT have the freedom to make schoolchildren sing Christian songs. That goes against the freedom of conscience of every non-Christian student.

You're complaining about Christians not being able to infringe on the rights of others and saying that's an infringement on THEM. You have it completely backwards.

I bet if there were a Muslim teacher having your first grader sing a song about Allah, your viewpoint would change quite quickly.

No. Emphatically No.
Your position demands special treatment. The christians feel they can go about browbeating everyone with their own beliefs. BUT, if someone says, "hey stop browbeating me and leave me alone," oh it's on then. Then christians scream they have been oppressed. Many of the faith believe if you do not want a theocracy based on the Bible that you are athiest or only want to oppress poor christians; if they aren't t tyrants then they think everyone else is. Get off the cross we need the wood!

I say this as one who believes in God, Christ, and the Spirit, but I REFUSE to call myself a "christian." because of people like exhibit A up there.

A song containing the word god technically has religious meaning in it. Its not allowed to be in a school than. Teacher was right

If I were going to leave my homeland for a better place to live and raise my children there,I would NOT expect that country change their customs, laws or religious beliefs for me. I would simply teach my children to respect the others persons right to belive whatever they were used to doing and I would teach them thats not our way, but to respect theirs. After all, I would gone there because I thought it was a better place.
A country is not a better place because it's across the ocean somewhere, but because the people were doing something right, working hard and enjoying their religious freedom.

Not so in America, others come here and start DEMANDING we give up our beliefs, and religious practise because IT offends Them!
Americans would not be complaing if so much had not already been taken away already.

Government indoctrination of children into Christianity is not a custom of the United States. It's also clearly not a law, since it's illegal. And governments don't have religious beliefs.

P.S.......
Remember when Obama took office, one of the first he did was to cancel America's Day of Prayer that we had enjoyed for years past.He claimed it offended others,{MUSLIMS} It hurt no body.
I take that back, it must have hurt some, because it was canceled, but barley two days later, Obama let the MUSLIMS have their DAY OF PRAYER!
He got down on his knees and prayed with them!
It was held on the lawn next door to the white house. Did he not think that would offend Americans. At the end of it, these words were spoken by a Muslim leader, saying "OUR DAY HAS COME" It surley HAS. No American would have thought twice about it if Obama had not just cancled the Christains DAY OF PRAYER.

P.S. Again.... America, splash some cold water on your face and wake up before it's to late. Muslims are already dictating to us how and what we will do to please them.

Why not? If he wins next election, he will make sure we are under his rule. He already acts like he is some kind of king.
