This is all a political ploy. Mitt Romney has been gaining in the polls so Obama had to come up with something that would draw a sharp contrast between the two candidates. He's counting on there being more for than against and hopes to draw the attention off of the poor economy.

I think Obama is just saying that to get re -elected. He has always been against gay marriage.

I thought so too. There was something in his eyes when he said that. A body language expert could probably see that he wasn't being genuine.

There is nothing genuine about Obama but his desire to destroy America. There was nothing genuine about hope and change. Just a ploy to get elected and the suckers fell for it.

He is going to sucker everyone one more time.

I hope not. He's not going to sucker me. I voted for him the last time, sorry to say. They are going to raise so much money for him though, and we all know money talks. Then look how much more Romney is going to have to spend due to this. I wish they weren't allowed to do this. I wish they were only allowed to spend a minimum amount of taxpayer money, like the box you check to make a contribution on your income tax, and the TV and radio ads be free and kept to a minimum. I think it would be more fair and the people would have a better chance of making up their minds on their own as to who they wanted to vote for. The more exposure they get the more chance they have of confusing the people.

There are 2 things that get me hyper (1) Abortion and (2) Gay/Lesbian rights. POTUS Obummer really pushed my number 2 when he came out on ABC. I am so sick of all the hype from Hollywood, politicians and our news media in support of gay rights. This is being pushed at me everyday to no avail but our children haven't fared as well. I have tried to teach them right but it is so depressing when you turn on the TV and see the programs promoting the gay lifestyle . What is happening to our country? Who could have imagined this only one generation ago?

I spent most of today feeling helpless while our president was making world news for his courageous actions. It's like a virus that has infected our country and it seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. Why did he do this and what are the dangers in announcing it now? I think "foot-in-mouth" Biden forced his hand otherwise the pay-back to his Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Gay and Transgender donors would have happened after he was safely re-elected. I don't think he wanted to make people like me angry enough to do the only thing I can that really counts and I did it just a few minutes ago https://www.mittromney.com/donate

I know that many of you feel the same way I do and I'm begging you to get proactive and make him a one-term president. He doesn't stand for who I am and I'm going to use some of that Social Security money to damage him. He might still win but at least I already feel better for getting in the fight.

Warm regards to all.

You're right about it being pushed at us. They're making it seem like it's the thing to do. The children need the chance to grow up normally until they know in their heart just what their sexual orientation is but how are they supposed to do that with all of this being pushed at them on TV and from all other directions. I think lots of times young teens get into these type of behaviors because of peer and social pressure just because so many others are doing it. Then when they get old enough to know the difference they've already messed with their life and their head. I'm with you. We need to do everything we can do to get Mitt Romney elected.

There you go again talking the hate stuff. No one said they "hate" gays. The general public just doesn't like it being pushed off on them. I hardly think that is "living and let live". Also, raising your kids to "not hate" is not all there is to it by a long shot.

Yes it does. Everything that goes on in a society affects everybody. If they could get married that wouldn't be enough. Then it would still be whine, whine, whine because everbody doesn't like it, boo hoo, boo hoo.

No, if they could get married and then if everybody didn't act to suit them then there would be a whole new set of lawsuits on everything from A to Z. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Over and out.

To Ann and Strongly Agree..
You are what's wrong with most of the close minded population today.. You say you don't want thier lifestyle pushed on you, and that it's not normal. Well to both of those facts I have this to say. If you don't want to see it on TV turn the channel. It's neither hurting you or anyone else for that matter. The youngwer generation in "OUR" country is growing up with a more tolerant view. And what in todays society is normal. Everyone was made different for a reason. And before anyone starts quoting Bible Scriputres let me first say that The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals.

Well Strongly Agree that's where you would be wrong if you would have paid attention in school you would probably have learned that the Greeks and Romans both had more Homosexual relationships than any other civilization to date. It was common practice in both of those cultures to have a wife only for procreation purposes. Most men of those times had many male lovers. And you say it's not normal how do you figure that. Is it not normal for one person to love another, is it not normal for one person to seek the companionship of another. Maybe what you think isn't normal. This country was founded by people looking for a place free of subjecation and oppression, but look what's gone on in our country's history, slavery the oppression of rights be it for women, African Americans, or those who like the same sex. I think it's time for you to wake up and realize that homosexual people are the same as everyone else. You can't help who you fall in love with or who your attracted to.

Homosexuality used to be in the book of mental illnesses the psychiatrists use. A bunch of lesbians and gays got mad, raised h*ll, and had it taken out. However, it is STILL a mental illness and will ALWAYS be a mental illness.
