I think it is a human rights issue and that anyone should be allowed to marry whomever they please!

Well not if it changes the meaning of FAMILY. I think it could cause problem with the institution of marriage in America.
They can be together...without a certificate? What rights are they losing? Why give special rights to any group? Just explain why it is a human rights issue...please?

If you're all for not changing the "institution of marriage", then be all for it. I'm talking back in the good ole days when fathers dictated who their daughters could marry for dowries. Men who had their own little harem of women to produce children to work the fields. Etc, etc. At one point there were even laws against those of different races/religions/ancestry who could not marry.
The so called institution, has evolved over the ages. This is not some special property belonging only to certain classes. The idea of marriage needs to change, period. This is not a religious issue, it's a civil rights issue to allow those in the LGBT community the same exact rights I have with my husband. It is not majority rules, when it comes to basic civil rights.

How about the gays just showing some honesty on this issue. They already can adopt, and visit in the hospital. This issue is all about money, pure and simple. They want gay marriage so they can get health and retirements benefits from their spouses. If they would be honest about, there would probably be more support. Just stand up and say that is what it is really all about.
