If the waste is reprocessed, there is no reason not to use nuclear energy

Use thorium for fuel. No radioactive waste. Don't need a cooling tower. Use the steam and hot water to kick start any of a dozen or more industrial processes/plants. Maybe even to heat a large green house.

Come on Sandstone, cheap electricity might even make reopening the quarry viable.

Opening the quarry is a non-starter. Now that the Kettle is a "wild and scenic" river, development is banned by federal regulation.

You can however still go in the park and hug a tree.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Pisces

Having to bow down to convention or limitations is enough to make you want to scream right now, and you'll do your utmost to rebel in any way you can. Be careful about this because you could easily get on the wrong side of someone who has power or authority over you. It feels as though you're battling with forces that want to keep you under control, and you don't like it one bit.
