For the price of a nuclear plant we could put wind, solar and solar water heating on hundreds of thousands of homes and do it clean and eliminate being tied to giant utility and energy systems. Ben Biothe. Www-wind-Inc.com

Although a natural disaster can happen, such as the one in Japan, nuclear power in the U.S. is very safe.

The US Navy has accumulated over 6200 reactor-years of accident-free experience over the course of 230 million kilometres, and operated 82 nuclear-powered ships (11 aircraft carriers, 71 submarines - 18 SSBN/SSGN, 53 SSN) with 103 reactors as of March 2010.

We don't have the knowledge to ensure safety in case of emergency, and current storage of nuclear waste is outdated before it begins. Also, it is NOT clean power. If we put solar panels on every south-facing roof in San Miguel County, we could prove the safety and efficiency of Solar Power at a fraction of the cost.

Solar energy is like trying to catch a butterfly on a cloudy day. You need a butterfly net the size of a football field to catch it.

Nuclear energy is more like a hand-held magnifying glass. But the glass can be made smaller or larger at will for more or less energy. And it doesn't make any difference if it is cloudy.

In either case they are both nuclear forces.

solar is more like lighting a campfire fifty feet outside your home and building a solar heat collector on the outside wall of your house that will transfer the campfire heat into your home. Something is lost from the source to the collector. Light is proportional to its square. The sun is far away.

Did you miss my previous post? It is not risky if done right. And we have a huge amount of experience on how to do it right.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Pisces

Things are not always what they seem today, so be careful. Someone might appear to be completely honest but turn out later to have been fooling you in some way. Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface. So be wary about who and what you believe, and don't let anyone push you into making important decisions today because they may not be in your best interests.
