How's that flooding working for your plant? Still feeling safe?
|

Hey jerry, the plant is in a refueling mode. READ: Not producing. Also, the floodwaters aren't near the primary containment building. Ouch, that has to smart!!! |

Considering possible damage and the cost for dealing with spent nucelar fuel, it is much too expensive to build nuclear power plants.

In your opinion. |

US orders news blackout
on crippled Nebraska nuclear plant The Nation http://nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-... A shocking report prepared by Russia’s Federal Atomic Energy Agency (FAAE) on information provided to them by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) states that the Obama regime has ordered a “total and complete” news blackout relating to any information regarding the near catastrophic meltdown of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant located in Nebraska. According to this report, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant suffered a “catastrophic loss of cooling” to one of its idle spent fuel rod pools on 7 June after this plant was deluged with water caused by the historic flooding of the Missouri River which resulted in a fire causing the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to issue a “no-fly ban” over the area. Located about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha .... Russian atomic scientists in this FAAE report, say ... this one of the worst nuclear accidents in US history. Tritium leaks from US nuclear sites Press TV http://www.presstv.com/detail/185681.html Radioactive tritium has leaked from at least 48 of 65 sites of commercial nuclear power sites in the United States, investigations have shown. According to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission records, tritium — a radioactive form of hydrogen — has leaked through corroded pipes into the ground and that the number and severity of the leaks are escalating, The Washington Post reported.... Any exposure to radioactivity increases the risk of cancer. Israel returns nuclear waste to US Press TV http://www.presstv.com/detail/185644.html Head of Israel's Nuclear Energy Commission Shaul Horev says Tel Aviv has returned nuclear waste from its Sorek nuclear reactor to the United States. Horev, who spoke at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ministerial conference on nuclear safety in Vienna on Monday, did not specify the exact amount of waste, Israeli daily Ha'aretz reported. ... The operation took place after Israel's Nuclear Energy Commission and the US Department of Energy signed an agreement for the return of the nuclear waste over a year and a half ago.... The agreement with the US does not apply to the Dimona nuclear reactor, where international sources believe Israel produces fissile material from uranium and makes plutonium for stockpile of nuclear weapons, and waste from Dimona is not being returned to the US. Missouri attorneys offered credit course in Talmudic law BATR Forum http://forum.batr.net/showthread.php... In a “seminar accredited for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) by the Missouri Bar”... St. Louis lawyers who attend will be schooled by Chabad rabbis in the Babylonian Talmud, a handbook on lying, deceit and wrong-doing which desecrates the name and memory of Jesus Christ (Sanhedrin 43a; Gittin 57a), and His Blessed Mother Mary (Sanhedrin 106a; Kallah 51a), permits sex with children (Sanhedrin 69b in The Talmud: The Steinsaltz Edition [Random House, 1999] vol. 19, p. 13; also cf. Ketubot 11b and Sanhedrin 54b) and teaches that Judaic males are above God (Bava Metzia 59b). Chabad (also known as “Chabad-Lubavitch") is a Hasidic faction of Orthodox Judaism ... The founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman ... teaches that the souls of gentiles "contain no good whatever.”... Continuing Legal Education credits to lawyers are thereby accredited by the state of Missouri through the Missouri Bar.... It would appear that the Constitution provides for separation of Church and State ... but not Synagogue and State. |

I THINK IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS THE NEUCLEAR PLANTS HAVE PROVIN TO DANGEROUS TO BE USED NO ONE CAN PREDICT A DISASTER IF THEY COULD WE WOULD NOT HAVE THEM. THE ONLY WAY IS CLEAN ENERGY. WIND, TIDAL ETC. SPEND THE MONEY ON THESE AND DO AWAY WITH THE NUECLEAR WASTE ALTOGETHER.

Economy doesn't matter if there isn't breathable air or drinkable water. |
Economy doesnt matter if the population is a bunch of retards either. |

Read the news, at least what's not blacked out.
|
|
What about the spent fuel rods that have been temporarily stored on site since day one? |
|
never work, bad for profits |
|
What about them??? |
|

The cat will be out of the bag when mico and mini reactors arrive soon on the market. Everyone will be buying up these small reactors than can power a small towns. It will make solar and wind power look like toys.
Just look at Toshiba's 4S system and see the future! |
|
The rods "since day one" are stored in the dry cask facility. They don't need cooling at all. The casks they're stored in are even rated to sit 50 feet under water. For the fuel rods currently in the pool, it would take a few days of no cooling before things get dicey. With as slow as this flood is developing, keeping the cooling pumps running is hardly a problem. |

The news was never "blacked out". Funny how silly people will put a whole lot of faith in a Pakistani news organization. That same Pakistani article contained many wild assertions. The funniest was the TSA making a marine assault on the states of Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia! LOL! |
|
You really think Pakistan is a reliable source? LOL!!! |

Tritium emits a weak form of radiation, a low-energy beta particle similar to an electron. The tritium radiation does not travel very far in air and cannot penetrate the skin. Also, the total amount of tritium leaked from any one site is less than the dosage of one x-ray. |
