If it were legal , it would increase tax revenues, reduce criminal activity and boost local economies. Especially in rural North Carolina. Alchohol related crime and violence is tenfold what that of marajuana users exhibit. Ever seen someone stoned on pot attempt to beat the crap out of anything? Ive also rarely ever heard of anyone stoned in a traffic accident, although I'd never advocate driving under the influence on anything. the average income from a tobacco plant is less than $200, the profit from a marajuana plant is > $6,000...and sometime double that.(granted, part of that is because marajuana is illegal.)
