but we do have drunk drivers on the road....so lobby to have booze made illegal as well...

so much money we could make if we take it off the black market so WE can make the money rather than drug dealers....people are going to do it anyways (war on drugs proof of that...war we are never going to win) so why not make money for schools, roads, health care, etc...

There are too many other crimes that need attention.Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol.It would boost the economy,and create more jail space for VIOLENT offenders.Ilegalization of Marijuana is outdated,and their is no sufficient research or data to support that it is harmful.It is not addictive ,like alcohol,cocaine,and presciption medication.It should be illegal to minors only.I find it appauling that pedophile's get less time in prison,than some people get for possesion of marijauna.Free that cell for Violent offender's,rapist and pedophile's.It is not a gateway drug..alcohol is..ask any addict,of cocaine,oxycontin,heroin.If you think making it legal is telling our youth's it's okay..well guess what if a teen wants marijuana ,they will get easier if sold on the street's,than at the corner store where they will be carded.I cant believe with all the progress made in this country,we are still clinging to this outdated law..We have MAJOR crimes going on and pot smoking isnt one of them.People dont end up in rehab over pot.People dont rob,and prostitute there selves like a crack head over marijuana.Its just an outdated law that cost us money by keeping illegal.Let the police be free to pursue REAL crimes,and there are plenty!!!

What a dumb question..of course it should be Legal..I had 2 freinds since Childhood.one has smoked pot since High school,the other started drinking in High school.The pot smoker has a great Job,lovley home and Family,and is not stupid or dopey by any means..has a BA and a Masters degree.Pillar of society.He is discreet,does in at home at the end of a long day.They other friend was in and out of prison because when he drank he became disorderly,crashed his car a few time getting his license revoked..People do things when they are drunk that they wouldnt normanly do alcohol lowers your inhibitions,you end up in bed with people you never seen before,you pick fights because of the illusion your invincable,you call in to work hung over from pot..My freind the pot smoker enjoys a fine life ,My other freind the alcoholic was hit by a car and killed as he tried to cross the road Drunk...now which one is more harmful??? Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figuer that out.Its our goverment..The Drug companies shower them in campain funds to keep it illegal,because they know that there is A natural herb out there,that if made legal cost them a big profit!!!This is our country,not the the goverments or the Pharmaceutical companies..but they call the shot's..where are are civil rights,when so many people want it legal and they turna deaf ear..Its all about greed folks..Its time we the people take our county back and make our wants respected and our voice's heard..The law makers need quit worrying about somthing as harmless as Pot,and start making tougher laws for the maggots that prey on our children..That should be a priority...Marijuana should not be legal to minors..But if my 12 year old gets presured by a freind to smoke some pot..it will be alot easier to deal with,then the pedophile down the street who rapes or molest's them..causing a LIFE TIME of damage..killing a child soul and innocense!!That is where the priority of lawmakers in Florida should be PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN!!!!

It is only kept illegal because you cannot patent a naturally occurring substance without processing it, so drug companies won't have it. If the federal government is correct and it has no medical value, why did drug companies spend millions of dollars trying to synthesize THC ie: Marinol? As of now, and since the 70s, cocaine is considered more legal, yes, MORE legal, than marijuana, and none of you opposed to the legalization can explain the cause for that without bringing up the fact that since it is a naturally occurring substance that requires processing, it can be patented, and drug companies can create their own version, slap a patent on it, and sell it to hospitals. To say cocaine has medical value, same as so many opiates, and THC does not, is to say the least, foolish, especially considering the serious dangers of drugs like cocaine and legal opiates.

BTW, I've been a stoner since I was a senior in high school, and am one year away from finishing my PhD in psychology.
