Right after the governmant drops all the requirements for providing workman's comp insurance for the employees. If stoners are ever going to be allowed on jobsites legally, then the employers should NOT be required to be responsible for their safety. If they get hurt,it's their problem. Testing positive at the hospital after an accident just cancelled your coverage. Draw your last check and get the .... off the site! You WOULD go along with that in order to be able to smoke MJ,....right?

You can't see the forest for the trees. You can smoke all you want but not as long as you work in a drug free workplace and as long as you expect someone to cover you in your job situations where you make mistakes and get injured. If a stoner is high on MJ at thier own choice, insurance coverage of workmans comp and any fault of the company would be null and void. Would you go along with this to be able to smoke anywhere anytime?

Would you be willing to sign and notarize a statement that you would not try to sue or collect damages for any injury that you recieved on the job site if you were tested and found to be high?? Would you be willing to sign the same paper that if another associate injured you where you couldn't work ever again, that you wouldn't pursue damages because you were shitfaced as well as the other person?? Think long and hard!

dont even bother with ThomasA, pure speculation is all his statements are on here, to try to instill fear. Pot isn't legal yet, so how can one say what insurance requirements are going to be for employers? Seriously! Funny how there isn't any "special" workers comp requirements for alcohol.....

....yep, I support the legalization of marijuana manly because I'm tired of hearing uninformed people like you whine about a plant that has not killed anyone. After its legalized then you'll have to find something else to bitch about.

He'll yeah let's all get high.......lol just playing I put that cause I knew it would piss some of you ppl off but hey I don't see a big deal for it being legal if a doctor gives a script for it cause there are ppl out there who could really use it for pain and depression and you ppl think that ppl will be out on the roads while under the influance they do that with pills to.......

Coming from a teen whose been high many times, I'm sure it has caused deaths. I know plenty of people who get high every day although I dont anymore, and I don't think one of us hasn't 1) stopped at a stop sign and sat there til it turned green. Then minutes later realizing it wasn't a red light! 2) stopped at a green light. Just because.
3) gone way under the speed limit and focused so hard on driving in a straight line that indeed, resulted in swerving. I can honestly say it should not be legalized. Too many people will smoke while driving (very dangerous) you get very sleepy while high and I've had friends almost fall asleep. People will abuse this legalization if it's passed, and as a teenager who knows, please don't do that to our youth :(

80% of traffic accidents are caused from eating while driving. I guess we should outlaw all food also. Lets lock up anyone caught with a cheeseburger in a cage alongside murders and rapist. Our youth will be safe.

Actually eating while driving is illegal, just like smoking, and drinking, as should be. But cheeseburgers have no mind-altering chemical compounds either, dramatics aside

I've seen kids in worse shape from taking the "legal" drugs, but that's okay because they're legal. Seriously, show me one death DIRECTLY related to using pot. you cant! cant say that about the pharmaceuticals you kids are being prescribed......

While marijuana itself can't kill you, how do you know that marijuana hasn't caused driving accidents? You dont know. But your reflexes are so slowed and impaired I'm sure there have been cases as such. And I never once said I supported spice, I think it's worse than marijuana actually, but we aren't talking about spice or pharmaceuticals so get with it and know what you're arguing with.

Come out of your cloud a minute. Hello? Hello? Ok,now that your eyes are open....... Larger companies are required by law to carry workman's comp insurance on employees. The insurance carrier sets the rules on drug testing and figures your premium based on compliance. Alcohol can be tested easily in a lab with a BAT just like POPO uses at a traffic stop. It can tell actual levels. With MJ, there is no test to say when you smoked, just that you DID smoke and it's in your system. When the written rules say you can't have it in your system, on company time,on company premises, then You broke the rules, You got caught, and You get fired. So simple. If a buzz is more important than a job or even your future with a drug related dismissal following you around, go ahead fire off another torpedo!
