It is something that hurts unborn babies, while people enjoy the weed, the long term effects are very punishing, my uncle after years of doing pot- [just before he died at about 74] his eyes fell out of his eye sockets. Sure it can bring pleasure for a space of time, but sooner or later you will have to pay the piper for the dance. Children dont need to be influenced by narcotics of any kind- their life has just begun. They need their brain cells to be fully aware- not distroyed by drugs. As a mother, I oppose it strongly. If you get caught with it- well ---you did it, make your bed.

I will first say that I do not smoke pot. I have before but have never made a habit of it.
I do not feel as though pot is as harmful as put on. I have to say, I am interested to know how smoking pot made your uncles eyeballs fall out. Not saying it didn't happen, I'm just curious.
I have never heard of an individual overdosing on pot. Studies say that to do so you would have to ingest an impossibly large amount. We all know that smoking anything is not good for your lungs, but smoking a joint is much less harmful than smoking cigarettes. Smoking pot is less harmful on your body than drinking. Liver failure from weed? Never happened.
Most people would not stop smoking if it was legal. But I cannot say I would expect a rise in accidents, crimes, ect.
I understand pot is seen as a drug, and therefore harmful, but we have already seen that it can be medicinal. Marijuana is not addictive in the sense of heroine or cocaine. A user of marijuana will not experience the painful physical withdraws if they do not get a "fix".
I just cannot understand why more harmful habits such as smoking and drinking are legal, and yet cops are obsessed with catching someone with pot, therefore ignoring more prominent crime happening right under their nose.

Ok first and for most you probably should get your facts straight because there is no proof that it harms unborn babies...no I didn't smoke pot when I was prego but I read just about any and every book article and email I could get ahold of about pregnancy and none of those articles once stated that it was harmful to the fetus or the mother a couple if them actually said some dr's will priately off record recommend it for bad cases of morning sickness. Please don't get me wrong I do not believe that you should do any type of drug in the presence of your child but you should really check to make sure your facts are correct.

I just want to see the dealers out of biz. And see this hurt the mexican drug business. This would hurt them in not being able to smuggle it across the border. Would it close them down. Of course not. But it's a start.

Marijuana doesn't cause as many deaths as alcohol and smoking and both of those things are legal. Why not legalize it and let the taxes from it benefit the community. An added bonus would be that I would be able to smoke it....lol

It is not the problem people believe it to be. The government could make good money from the taxes, rather than spending billions each year trying to eliminate it. Also, the price may go down if it wasnt such a hard to find item.
