Well lets see... pots been around physically(provable) since Christ's time, that I know of. Its only come into to headlights of scrutiny of late. I don't remember any of the pharos or kings or emperors that went after the users, or growers. Then we had Nixon, who created a money machine the went after the people who were rebelious enough to smoke pot. I don't believe that that president, like so many other things he did was well thought out. He was a reactionist ("Nuke em Henry"). It's not too late to disolve an agency that costs the americans trillons of dollars, sinse its birth. Release the jailed (non violent) people who are incarserated for pot. Less inmates, less gaurds, less border patrols, imagine the savings! If you think for a moment that the AFT isn't dieing to add the letter "M" to AFT and regulate it... and tax it... you've got you head in the sand again.

Legalization = Revenue saved Taxation = Revenue incurred Simple! Nothing happens over night in legislation but unless the mass of voters starts the ball rolling in the right to freedom direction, we are destined to remain at this social plateau where we currently are.

i think it should be used for medicinal purposes only, it is an amazing herb for this purpose...it will be too hard to regulate the strength being sold

There is no reason for it to be illegal in the first place.

Criminals hit with huge taxes, why not stay illegal??? I don't see anything changing except another boondogle, millions of dollare to "Regulate" something and nothing changes. Come on people wake up; criminals won't immediately start paying taxes. We still have moonshiners in West Virginia and probaby other states.

As an intoxicant, Marijuana is much less dangerous than alcohol, does not cause physical addiction, is very helpful in many medical conditions, would raise billions in taxes (national level), would stop the smuggling, hurting the drug cartels, help the DEA concentrate on the really dangerous drugs, (cocaine, amphetamines, heroin). To make legal marijuana is an intelligent decision.

My son has a traumatic head injury from 2008. He smokes marijuana in the evenings to help with aggitation and other brain injury related ailments. I'm 60 years old and a professional with a Master's degree. Smoking it in the 60's didn't effect my motivation. I am for it in moderation. If we tax it, we may just be able to help our economy.

It's a plant , alcohol is lethal and also you're more likely to kill somebody than you would be before drinking. people kill each other BECAUSE of politics making it(marijuana) illegal not the other way around. hence terms such as 'pig' refering to law enforcement creating stuff like that.

save money in the legal system by not prosecuting for possession/growing of marijuana and increase revenues by taxation.

Criminals won't pay taxes at all. But the federal and state government will.
