i support the legalization of MEDICAL MARIJUANA. this can be of such help to people in severe pain, and people wasting away from cancer and other illness that cause loss of appetite, and weight loss. why are people so afraid of this for medical use? we have drug stores on every corner, and the scripts that are filled in the drug stores are drugs that can be bought on the streets as well. medical marijuana facilities will be regulated and you will need a doctor's letter and/or card to be able to have the marijuana dispensed to you.PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE PAIN FREE. IF NOTHING ELSE WORKS OR PEOPLE CAN'T TAKE MANY OF THE STRONG PAIN KILLERS, AND MARIJUANA WILL HELP, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

watched my husband waste away from cancer. he was nothing but skin hanging on bones. such an indignity and suffering for him. my heart still breaks! if marijuana had been legal, it may have helped him with an appetite, so he would not have looked like a skeleton, and helped him with the pain.therefore, maybe dying WITH A LITTLE DIGNITY!!! I FULLY SUPPORT MEDICAL MARIJUANA!!!

Little known fact- The first hemp laws in America were passed in 1619 and they were 'must grow' laws. If you were a farmer living in America and you didn't grow hemp, you would be jailed or kicked out of the country as a non patriot. At that time, it was one of the most widely used plants in the world.

The government needs to do a better job at convincing the American voters if they want to continue on with this prohibition of marijuana. They claim that the plant is dangerous and deadly, yet they can't provide any proof or evidence to back these claims up. If you want to know the FACTS about marijuana then click on the link below.

In a 2010 report by the Common Sense for Drug Policy Organization, the American annual causes of death were classified under the following categories:

Tobacco Related 430,700
Alcohol Related 110,640
Prescription Drugs 32,000
Suicide 30,575
Homicide 18,272
Drug Induced Deaths 16,926
NSAID’s (such as Aspirin) 7,600
Marijuana 0 deaths

Before you start to wonder about the veracity of the figures above, you should be aware that no one has ever been officially declared dead from direct or indirect marijuana consumption.

yes, you are right jim, and i KNOW it helps very ill people, hypothetically speaking, even if someone unfortunately is going to die anyway, why can they not have the opportunity to die with less pain, and without looking skeletal????(die comfortably and with some dignity)??? i just don't understand. i can only see it as a drug that "helps" not hurts sick people. the treatments for, say, cancer patients,(as i have had much experience with) are so terrible, and cause more pain, illness, and suffering BUT THAT SEEMS TO BE OKAY.... just doesn't make sense to me.... judy

i have many health complications from being born at 7.5 months (not full term) my rx bills were 25000$-40,000$ a year, with medical marijuana my rx cost are less then $1000 a year. that saves taxpayers 39,000 a year for 1 person, i have cerebal palsy, dystonia, and skeletal deformities. i am suffering enough, why should i be a criminal for saving tax payers, consumers, gov. health care system over 40,000$ a year. medicine and medical cost. my condition is what it is, the medicine makes me more ill, but fixes other things. ni don't feel the u.s government should support torture of its handicap citizens, in your name.

gary,
does the medical marijuana help you? are satisfied with whatever help it does give you? YES YOU DEFINITELY "ARE" SUFFERING ENOUGH!!! i know you have most likely read my many posts about how i watched my husband "WASTE" away and suffer with cancer, as i took care of him for so long. such an indignity and unnecessary suffering!!! and the effects of ALL THE TREATMENTS AND MEDICATIONS THAT WERE THROWN AT HIM!!! it was awful!!! i am sooooo interested in how medical marijuana is actually helping people, because i now have some conditions that keep me in constant pain, and i CANNOT take narcotic pain medications, so i have to suffer with the pain. medical marijuana is legal in new jersey, and has been for 2 years, however, as of yet we do not have a site for growing or sites for dispensing. if i hear that it is helping enough people, and we finally get the sites necessary, i would want to consider that for pain management for myself..... EVERYTHING ELSE I GET VIOLENTLY ILL ON!!!! so what am i supposed to do?- JUST SUFFER!!!!???? according to some ignorant people - YES, WE ARE SUPPOSED TO JUST SUFFER!!! EVERYBODY DESERVES TO BE PAIN FREE!!!!
thanks gary.
