If grown like tobacco,I believe it would lose its potency after several crops & every one knows that the fm plant is the 1 that produces the profitable 'buds' if it can be grown so that there is info. available to farmers to educate them as how to grow a better money & more desirable crop, then I agree, legalize it,tax it and sell it. like alcohol,It would be illegal to use it while driving.

Although, just to show some that I believe legalizing it & using a system similiar to the way we grade & sell tobacco, could help this recession, although I personally do not smoke it I did when I was 18 until I was 28 or so,I know ppl. that do smoke it. to my knowledge there have nere been any long term health problems associated with the use of it other than mild short-term memory loss & the obvious fact that it cant be good for the lungs but possibly less harmful than ciggerettes, cigars etc. How would the worth of ea.crop be evaluated? Who would be the right person or organization to determine a grading system that worked to do that?

true it has pl. scared to spend a dime, but like ciggerettes although no proof to support that its any thing more than habit forming & non-addictive,ppl. would spend $ to buy that, just like they continue to buy cig.!!!!

People should be able to do whatever they want so long as they're not causing other injury, not degrading another reputation, and not restricting the rights of others.

I do not smoke Marijuana myself, but I do think legalizing it would be a smart way to go. Put a limit on how much an individual can have in their possession. Then, package and sell the product; get the our country out of debt and less people in jail for petty Marijuana crimes. People are going to smoke it anyway...and the whole reason it became illegal in the first place was because lumber yard owners figured out that Hemp can make paper (that is more durable and less expensive than wood), clothes, rope...and a smear campaign started so the lumber guys didn't lose a ton or money. Weed has not killed anyone and is way safer than alcohol. Besides, driving with alcohol intoxication kills way more people than someone smoking a Marijuana cigarette. Legalize and get this country back on track and out of debt. The herb helps with pain, helps people with appetite problems, calms people (can help someone sleep)...if most the people in the USA smoked, it should make us a more peaceful nation.
