Legalize it, tax it and let tax-payers reap the benefits. Tax at 20 percent and throw the money in the S.S. coffers. But don't let illegals get any of the S.S. benefits.

I'm not a user or distributer, but I'm a realistic person and from what I've seen through out the years the war on some illegal drugs has been a failure.Accept the reality that by legalizing this particular drug will aid in the medical field a great deal and also would decrease crime rate significantly not only in our city but in the entire country.Marijuana is a physical and mental relaxing drug that when used in moderation can have a positive affect on people. There is no doubt that it can have a positive effect on some that are on the brinks of losing their minds and committing stupid crimes due to the hard times that we are facing in this great country of ours.

It would be taxable and more controlled. People are going to do it legally or illegal. Why not tax it and let the pots heads pay for it.

I personally don't care of whether pot is legalized or not. I don't use drugs. My concern (IMO) is that if we legalize it..then follows taxing it. The government will tax it so high, that the users will not be able to afford it and they will have to do what they have to do to obtain it.

Just more government intrusion.(IMO)

People are already doing whatever they have to do to get it. Keeping it illegal keeps the druglords well funded. While I respect your opinion, I disagree with your reasoning.

Thank you for being polite. Your right about the druglords being well funded. Never took that into consideration.

I would like to say that marijuana seems to be the only thing to calm me down when I'm stressed at home or at work. I like to smoke and then go to bed and wake up feeling like a brand new person. It makes food taste better. It makes everything so vibrant. I dont think it should be considered a drug. They would be smoking this right now if the feds didn't illegalize it just because they couildnt tax it....but now they are able to and that is why the question is being thrown around. Everybody has done it at some point. It is amazing!

MJ, soothing, calming, just plain chilling, and husband's don't beat their wives after toking.
Alcohol, how many murders, rapes and wife beatings since the dawn of time (or at least the discovery of ale) due to drunken men.
This is a no brainer, right?

OK, so we would get tax dollars, RIGHT??

Maybe we could then follow suit with CALIFORNIA and COLORADO! Have store fronts selling the weed, homemade drug cupcakes? NO PROBLEM! Then we could have all the Medicaid people go to their doctors and get a PRESCRIPTION for MARIJUANA!! At OUR EXPENSE! Let's see, Colorado has STOREFRONT DOCTORS (quacks) that will right a prescription for the drug if you complain about any pain or discomfort.

WOW, that will really impress our children!! Oh yeah, if prescription then WE ALL PAY AGAIN! Because then it would be a "DRUG" and covered under their prescription drug program! Wake up folks!!

Last time I noticed a guy driving down the street in PSL while puffing on a joint, weaving in traffic, blew a right light, and what is it I think is WRONG WITH LEGALIZING MARIJUANA??

Think about the children, do you REALLY want them smoking that crap LEGALLY? Don’t we have enough of a problem with the young people of today? Why don’t you lower their I.Q. again, a mind under drugs is not ALERT! Watch an old (who was it, sorry I would not insult my intelligence by watching) Chech and chong movie. The movie was NOT AN EXAGGERATION! I stopped and watched it while my husband laughed his ass off. He thought it was great!

Oh yeah, LIQUOR is legal!! GREAT defense, then put PROHIBITION back in place! Think how many lives you could save!

WAKE UP AMERICA, stop this non-sense NOW! We have more rights then any nation in the world, what do you want another Sweden or is it Norway where the drug addicts run WILD and YES I am sure weed is the least of their problems!

The problem is “incrementally”, just like smoking……..first not at your desk, smoking or non smoking sides, then not in a restaurant nor BAR. At work, not at your desk, then not in the cafeteria, then no where in the building, then not within 500’ of the building, then NOT ON THEIR PROPERTY not even in your PARKED CAR on their property with the windows rolled up! Then take California, all of the above, then not in your car if there is a child in the car, then NOT IN YOUR HOME if smoke could escape and DISTURB your neighbor. Let’s see, now you can not smoke OUTSIDE of your apartment building, my GOD someone might smell your smoke!

MY POINT IS: Enough is ENOUGH! Trust me when I say, YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE TAX DOLLARS helping YOU!
