i have personally witnessed what cancer can do to you. after trying everything to help the side effects of treatment including morphine; pot was the only thing that helped.it's ridculas to ban it. let the people do what they want because they will anyway. they have been trying to govern people against themself for years and it just does not work. but it does fill alot of prisons.

yes,I'm 58 and have used marijuana for 43 years.I see nothing wrong with weed . our goverment wastes more money putting people in jails and prisons for something that the is quite harmless. the gov, should let the people of our states vote for legization, let the people be heard not the goverment.

It will boost the economy open up more jobs not to mention help people who are in severe pain. Most of the cancer drugs have extreme side effects compared to marijuana.

Tax it like tobacco and alcohol. Crime would be reduced also, as well as overcrowding of prisons.

The logic behind laws make no sense. Marijuana is so far less bad for you than alcohol and cigarettes and if smoked through a vaporizor is not unhealthy for you. It also can't be any worse than driving a gas guzzler that emits toxins into the air we NEED to breath. It doesn't do what alcohol does and slowly mutilate your liver. You don't get into fights because of smoking weed, but people make scenes constantly when they are drunk. You can't get marijuana poisoning either. Doctors all over are allowed to prescribe pills that people get addicted to and some overdose and die when marijuana can be used for numerous things from ADD to cancer. Marijuana also isn't chemically addicting. Sure you can get addicted to the feeling but people have food and sex addictions all the time and you don't see anyone banning those. None of those should be illegal either though...if you want to ruin your body it's your perrogative. On the basis of health though the laws are contradictory. Not to mention the fiscal help for this country it would do. If you ask any regular marijuana user they'll tell you they would gladly pay taxes on it if it were legal. Calmer people means less stress and less stress related illnesses and deaths, then leading to a better healthcare system. How could anything that may be thought of as bad about it top all of this. If you think that marijuana users are just "druggies" you are ignorant...do some real research and don't listen to what talking heads on Fox News and at your teabagger conventions. It's a freaking plant, it grows out of the ground, no tampering, no synthesizing or processing. We let people carry around guns that were made for one thing and one thing only (KILLING), and people can spend hours at a bar and drink, risking that person to get behind the wheel and kill someone while slowly killing themself from the drinking but calm people aren't allowed to walk around?
