While I don't and likely never will use weed the effect of it being illegal is about the same as those of prohibition on alcohol.
1. Enforcement costs the taxpayer a fortune directly.
2. Tax revenues are not collected on a multi billion dollar industry.
3. Otherwise honest and law abiding people are subject to prosecution and imprisonment.
4. Lastly and worst of all, it makes very bad and dangerous people very, very rich and they often use that money for corruption.
The current legal status of marijuana is a confusing patch work where it is legal and taxable in some venues while at the same time people are going to jail for using it.
It is time to treat grown ups like grown ups and let them make their own decisions regarding use of marijuana. That said, if you are caught driving under the influence if it, or any other such substance you again be treated like a grown up and you should rot in jail for a nice long time.

And no, "science" has proven that marijuana has temporary ills effects. But nothing on the long run. Besides, people aren't pilling up to smoke and drive.

It doesn't make sense to take food away from children so we can lock people up for marijuana. It is economically unsustainable.

We need to stop arresting people for using a substance which is safer than alcohol.

Absolutely! Medical marijuana has completely stopped the grand mal seizures caused from epilepsy.

25 years and pharmaceuticals did nothing. As a new patient, I visited 4 dispensaries. Each recommended the "Harlequin" strain - without knowing the other's recommendations. They were right on....and I am now
7 months seizure free!

To have it legally available anywhere is a dream come true.:-) Thank you voters!!!)

So, if it is legalized, less people will go to work.

I oppose it for recreational use because it been shown to damage the function of the brain. I don"t oppose it if it" used for people who are dying and the pain can"t be alleviated by no other means. I would start with prayer first!
